Seems Like LOGO Spent Their Entire Budget Introducing RuPaul’s New Drag Racers

We have it on good authority that LOGO basically pours all of their production budget into RuPaul’s Drag Race and this promo for season four all but proves it. Seriously.

Not only have they created an elevator music version of RuPaul’s “Jealous of My Boogie” but they’ve also decked out all the racers in sickening black and gold plated droid-wear and portrayed RuPaul as a mad scientess cackling as lightning electrifies her disco ball. It’s possibly the best-produced thing we’ve ever seen on LOGO ever (including the vodka commercials).

But thank God these are the new drag racers—Mike Ruiz makes a horrible drag queen.

That teaser was AMAZING. I cannot WAIT for this upcoming season.

And yes- I thought the same thing when I watched it: “Did Logo funnel all their money into RPDR or something? The production values on this thing are crazy.”

I also watched the “Meet the Queens” shorts and gotta say I’m really excited. Some of them were just . . . .terrible. But a lot of them were fantastic. And I have to tell everyone who reads this: go watch Sharon Needle’s MTDQ clip. You won’t be disappointed. If RPDR is about finding the fiercest, funniest, freshest Drag Queen I personally think Sharon fits the bill the best out of all the others. She’s like nothing I’ve seen on this show before and has her act down PAT.

This would be great if it were 1993. Rupaul had her day.

Nice promo, but… I’ll still be watching the show. It just bothers me that they
keep casting dragtestants that Ru will never pick. It is not fair to have them
compete without giving them a real chance to win.

Drag Race is the funniest thing on Logo-TV. Love the show.

RuPaul’s shows are the ONLY thing I watch on Logo.

While watching the new queens, I said to myself, that one has the surgery look of Chad Michaels…and turns out it is the one and the same. LOL.

I realize that Bravo is the offical gay network, but Logo is so embarassing for us…

I hope they pour more $ into Ru’s shows–and remove $ from the awful A List. Why the vaseline needed for camera lens shooting Ru must cost $5 million.

Ru doesn’t like Drag. She likes female impersonators.
Drag is smarter, funnier, edgier. The smart ones get knocked out.

Fucking love all of this shit! Awesome.

But we predicted all this would happen way back in March:

Glad Ru is paying attention! Trandroids are hot.

Drag is NOT the funniest thing on Logo. A-List Dallas is.

And if this teaser is all of their budget, then maybe we all should donate $$$….not that it was bad, but c’mon..seriously?

I see that have some big girls on the show yet again. Can’t wait for the episode where they face their insecurities about being fat, then get eliminated. The show is amusing but beyond predictable.

I wish that they would allow the queens to perform a song from their own shows when they are getting voted out. Asking some queen who’s thing is comedy, or old style glam to try to lipsync one of RuPauls ridiculous songs dosen’t let us see who is actually good.

@Cam: The songs they use to lip synch for their life aren’t all RuPaul’s. They use tons of drag queen mainstays. The point is to let the girls show their diversity, not how good they are within the narrow confines of what they know already. A good queen has to adapt to any situation, not just play to her strengths all the time.

He was mildly amusing many many years ago as a one trick pony. But the seriousness with which he discusses a topic as light as drag makes me cringe. On the other hand, here it is many many years later and he’s still there and on the air…so what do I know? Like they say…if you don’t like it, don’t watch it…. So I won’t, but to each his own.
