Sesame Square‘s Kami Will Teach Nigerian Kids About HIV

While America’s Sesame Street is still too squeamish to introduce an HIV-positive Kami (pictured, left), Nigeria’s custom tailored version of the show Sesame Square, which will be broadcast in a country where half of its 150 million are under age 14, will feature the muppet who’s been popping up in Africa to tell kids about staying negative. Gone is Cookie Monster; in is Zobi, an inept taxi driver (on right). The program is funding by a $3 million grant from the U.S. government, so let’s all get radical start claiming Obama is pushing the gay disease on Africa.

3 million for Sesame Street??!?! how about the U.S gives the money for, oh I dunno, clean water and food? I wonder how many of the 150 million even own or have access to a T.V, much less electricity. My guess is it’s under 1 million. This is absurd.

@Rob: Nigeria has it’s own stock exchange.

Nigeria is fully capable of helping itself. The wealthy there, much like the wealthy here choose not to.
