Twenty-five year old Dakota Cochrane’s gay-porn past has got tails wagging in the world of unlimited fighting, but at least one of his competitors on the upcoming reality competition The Ultimate Fighter 15 says it’s no big deal: Mike “the Wolverine” Rio (left) told MMAjunkie.com Radio today that the gay-for-pay warrior “is just like everybody else.”
“He’s just trying to start a new chapter in his life, which is what we’re all trying to do. We’re trying to move on. He’s entitled to do what he wants… Me and him hung out a little bit. He seemed cool to me. He didn’t seem disrespectful. He was just a cool, down-to-earth guy. Whatever he does in his spare time, he does in his spare time, but you can’t deny he can kick someone’s ass because you’ve seen his record and seen what he can do.”
Rio took the high road, saying he’s more concerned with Cochrane’s intimidating 11-2 record and seven-fight winning streak than anything he got up to in between the sheets.
“If he’s a good fighter, it doesn’t matter what he did. He’s not going into the show to do any gay-porn stuff. He’s going to fight. And if he’s good at fighting, who can take that away from him?”
Hmm, maybe guys who beat the crap out of each other for a living are more evolved than we thought?
TUF 15 premieres March 9 on FX.
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.

Oh, ok.
But this “fighting” basically is gay porn. They’re dry humping with clothes on and only other men pay to see it.
It’s worse than wrestling because that’s at least fake and they don’t spend 10 or more minutes in 69 position.
Boxing is a real sport, this is gay Spartans. I’ve only ever watched it to giggle at how gay it is and how many “straight” guys think it’s totally awesome. If I want to see martial arts I’ll stick to real martial arts competitions where the guys aren’t dry humping, groping, sniffing, and staring at each others asses.
I can watch real gay porn so I don’t need fake gay porn.
Mark
He prayed away his homosexuality and now he’s a great fighter, because we all know straight guys fight better.
Sounds like an Onion to me.
J
Am I the only one who notices this guy has gay face? I must be.
G
I hope it blows over for him soon. He’s being way cooler than Dustin Zito, so let him have his career change lol
Oh, ok.
@J: Good eye I didn’t even notice at first, eyes went straight for the speedo.
Joey
Every guy from this sport that I’ve heard speak out has sounded like a well rounded, intelligent, thoughtful, and reasoned person. Granted I haven’t heard many and I’m sure there’s bad apples. But still, its refreshing to see a sport that seems to encourage positive masculinity in its men. Rugby in America seems similar, and I wonder if “newer” sports allow more for this, it doesn’t have an archaic culture built around it in this country so it can evolve faster with society.

Yes, he has left the homosexual lifestyle behind, and he has moved on. All of embraced him, and believe because of him that change is possible. That’s the message he sends. The mistake, that is, the act of homosexuality over, and over, and over, (x 17)… the act of homosexuality is lower than being in porn, that’s why he is so ashamed, and everytime he did it, he hated it. Poor, poor, nice farm boy corrupted by those pervy, sex-obsessed homosexuals.
(Sarcastic post) but, that’s the message he sends.
iDavid
His “teammates” are all going to be handing him their ph numbers+hotel keys.

Question: Why does the guy from the first photo have fangs?
Belize
@Marcus B: I think you are misunderstood the scenario though I can understand how you can arrive at your conclusion.
Dakota never stated that being gay is wrong and being straight is right. Nor did Rio. The move is not a move from being gay to being straight to begin with. It was a move from being a porn star to being a fighter. And surely we can easily see why some people would think that this is an upgrade. Moral issues aside, we can’t deny that it takes more time, discipline and dedication to be a good fighter than to be a good porn star or fucker.
A lot of porn stars have bodies that are good to look at because they work out. But chances are, a great number of these porn stars can’t hit as hard as trained fighters or perform the acrobatic feats done by a fighter since their work out and “training” offers much less than that.
That’s just the physical aspect of it. What of the health aspect?
The MMA community is not the same as the Professional Wrestling community known for having a vast history of steroid abuse because it is important for them to look and not necessarily be imposing. Most successful fighters go through rigorous health regimens. I’m not saying that porn stars aren’t incapable of being healthy but their industry does leave more slack compared to that of MMA.
Also, what baffles me (and this is not entirely for you, Marcus B) is how easily a lot of us love to flip flop as far as sexual orientation and gay porn are in question. If a man is new to the industry without so much as a sibilant “s,” people jump in and cry condemnation because they’re gay for pay. And, when they retire saying that it’s not really what they want in life and that they just needed the money, a lot of us like that MORON who runs the Sword, Zachery Sire, call bull because apparently, their stay in an industry is enough to tell whether or not a person is gay. We throw in questions like “they why did you keep coming back?”
I know it’s a blow to the gay ego but let’s face it: times are tough and there are a lot of straight (gay) people who would do just about anything for cash. Just ask the next person who tries to rob you.
Belize
@Aric: People call him the Wolverine. It’s probably a promotional photo since apparently wolverines have fangs.
Belize
@Marcus B: Correction–you misunderstood. My bad.
Chuck
I dunno. I’ve seen ‘Danny’ in a few films, and I distinctly got the impression that he was completely gay, and my gay sense rarely tingles unless it’s dead on or very obvious. It was more of his mannerisms, voice, the fact that he was the biggest grin on his face in almost every video.
I don’t really care if someone is gay for pay or not, and I respect the decision of some people to go into the closet if they’re bound to get tons of TV face-time in their occupation to maintain professionalism in their field, but the guy seems to be pretty genuine about this whole thing, and he isn’t totally dissing the gay community and seems rather supportive of it.
But just for rumors sake, honestly, I think he’s gay.
iDavid
@Marcus B
I don’t get he is sending that message at all. Is there some religiosity comments he has mentioned that I missed? I get he’s a guy doing life his way and proud of it.
I’m getting to the point, and I NEVER thought I’d say this, of discarding sexual labels.
Go back to the Greek times when there were no labels, people just did what they did. Life was movement, not a head trip.
iDavid
PS “Danny” is not gay. He didn’t suck cock in any of his films. ; )
jc
What are the names of the porns and where can I get them?
iDavid
Go to seancody.com and search “Danny”.
Kyle
@Belize: Belize, wow, that was a lot to read…
Have you read his comments on twitter? Go read some of the gay jokes he has already made.
I am not sure what else you are talking about from your post.
“I know it’s a blow to the gay ego but let’s face it: times are tough and there are a lot of straight (gay) people who would do just about anything for cash.”
No. Sorry, not true.
Kyle
@iDavid: I’m not really laughing…sorry.
Kyle
@iDavid: I’m sorry, but gay one day will be on the Census, whether you like it or not. I plan to be counted as a gay person, and treated with respect and integrity. Sexual labels are important for tax reasons, tax breaks, etc when I am able to get married, get legally recognized in a will of a deathly ill-partner. I plan on experiencing all of that one day, whether you like it or not.
iDavid
@Kyle
I have never had an issue with being called “gay”. Im proud to be gay. My comment was in the light that there are so many labels I.e. homoflexible bi gay str8 almost str8 somewhat gay gay w girlfriend etc etc etc. its just become verying tedious etc etc etc…..just let people marry/have sex with whomever they want and get on with it.
Rug Bee
I wonder if “newer” sports allow more for this
The fewer blacks a sport has, the less likely it is to be homophobic.
Kyle
@iDavid: Gay men are the only ones up-in-arms about labels. That’s it. Heteroflexible? Oy vay. How ridiculous.
Accept your homosexuality and move on.
Kyle
Oy vey….sorry. Oy!!!

I once knew an MMA fighter-type. He was very masculine and straight-identifying. But once I put my soft hands on the back of his neck, he turned to butter. I massaged up to his head, at which point he lay it on the desk and uttered a soft moan.
My point is that most straight-identifying men are putty in your hands once you start applying a sensuous hand to the back of their necks.

@jason:
aaaahhhhh! sweet baby jesu, make it stop!
dude, that was seriously creepy! bates motel meets the sensuality of human centipede —

XTIAAN
@jason: jesus dude that makes about as much sense as some chick putting her hands on me making me straight
