Was Fox News Too Scared To Show Viewers a Transgender Talking Head?

To Fox News producers, Kymberleigh Richards looks like a woman but sounds like a man. Oh, she happens to be transgender? Quick, run the b-roll!

Discussing Los Angeles’ transit revamp, Fox & Friends‘s Brian Kilmeade chatted with Richards, Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s governance councilmember (fancy title for transit advocate), who was introduced first as he, then she, and then never seen from again.

Wow, yeah that was not noticeable at all. Geez It’s almost unbeleavable how childish and immature they are.

Shit, wow. That’s really embarrassing for FOX. A lot is really embarrassing for FOX, though.

The director must have thought they were being “punked” or something.

Yeah, that’s pretty much what I expect from FOX News. The fact that THIS is where most Americans get their news from makes me weep for my country.

      On a related note, “Kymberleigh”?

Pretty embarrassing for Fox. Completely expected, though.

@Samwise: Yep, you get to pick your new name and that’s what you pick? Kymberleigh? That reminds me of a transguy who wrote a passage in his book on transitioning about picking a new name. He wrote that one upside was that it gave people saddled with names like “Herman” or “Mildred” a chance to call themselves something different. “If there are any transguys named Herman out there, I apologize,” he wrote. “Second, I’ve got to ask, what were you thinking?!”

I found that kinda hilarious. I picked the very ordinary “Andrew,” but I’ve met plenty of people who picked names so baffling that I wanted to ask (but didn’t, of course), “THAT’S what you wanted to call yourself for the rest of your life?”
