Need a good long cathartic cry? It’s unlikely you’ll find anything more worthy than this video of Bette Midler, who phoned Anna Greenberg, a longtime superfan of the iconic entertainer, in the hospital battling cancer to chat about her condition, thank her for her support and sing one of her signature songs, “The Wind Beneath My Wings.” Not long after the video was taped Greenberg died at age 28.

I thought it was impossible to love Bette Midler anymore than I did, after this I see I was wrong.

What a great post—a BIG hug to Bette—goes to show that “the bigger they are, the nicer they are!” I’m sure this gesture meant more to that woman than most anything else—what a sweet way to add a little bit of pleasure to her last hours. And you could tell from Bette’s conversation that she was very sincere in her comments and feelings.

I do love Ms. M. I think of her when I walk through Ft. Tryon Park or eat yummy brunch at the New Leaf Cafe.
