Out literary wit David Sedaris was on the Dutch show College Tour, when the host asked him to read a passage from the ubiquitous soft-core S&M hit, 50 Shades of Grey. We love listening to David narrate his audiobooks, but he shouldn’t fall back on working a phone-sex line if the writing things goes south.
More importantly, we’re totally amazed how the Dutch audience understands Sedaris, even though he’s reading in English—and some obscure words at that. Most American’s can’t even translate ménage à trois.

The Dutch speak English much better than Americans do. It may be their 2nd, 3rd, 4th, or th language but they speak English perfectly.
