Well isn’t this just wonderful: Elvira Diaz, the mother of a transgender child, testified before the Nevada State Senate in Carson City in favor of SB 180, which would add gender identity and expression to the state’s hate crime law, which already includes sexual orientation. Elvira’s son Jessie, who was born a girl but dresses as a boy and uses the men’s bathroom, “has the right to express himself,” the proud Catholic told her lawmakers. “I really want to do all my effort to stop hating of any kind. This is a country of freedom. God made us all the same. We are kid’s of god.”
