While Newt Gingrich is pussyfooting around the idea of impeaching Obama over his refusal to defend DOMA’s Section 3, one man who has no such qualms is Rep. Trent Franks, the Arizona Republican. What is it about gay issues and Arizona Republicans that drums them up into a frenzy?
Now to be fair, Franks didn’t say Obama should be impeached, but that he’s support an impeachment “if it could gain the collective support.” Small difference! But it’s that sort of word play that, if this all blows up in the GOP’s face, will be enough to let him off the hook and say he never said the president should be ousted.

To answer your question, the Gays. It will be the gays.
Jim Hlavac
What’s funny is that the most famous Arizona Republican of them all, Mr. Conservative, Mr. Republican himself, Icon of the Conservative Movement, Senator Barry Goldwater did say in 1994: “You might not like it but gays deserve full constitutional rights including marriage and military service.” He came to this conclusion after coming to the reality of his gay grandson.
Perhaps modern day Republicans and more than a few Democrats, oh, all of them really, should embrace Goldwater’s realization, and this ridiculously silly debate about us end.

The only thing that needs to be impeached is that face, and that voice.

@Jason: Looks like his face was already half-impeached.
