We’ve very nearly given up on 24 (sorry, Kiefer), but we’ll definitely be tuning in next fall to check out the terrorism drama’s new lady president: lezzie actress Cherry Jones.
The Tony Award winning actress, who has also appeared on The West Wing and in the big screen hit Ocean’s 12, will be appearing as President Allison Taylor, the nation’s first female president, Washington Post reports.
This wouldn’t be the first time 24 broke rank on reality. As Baltimore Sun points out, Dennis Haysbert played fictional America’s first black president: President David Palmer, our favorite president – real or imagined – in history.
Congratulations on the new gig, Cherry! Hopefully you’ll give the show some fresh life. And, from what WaPo says, things aren’t looking good: “[Production was] recently delayed until August when a set-in-Africa storyline fell through and the producers went back to the drawing board.”
How about we take this to the next level?
