It’s funny, I never even really thought about it; that that would be an issue. I think that I’ve never even tried to like wax or shave my chest hair or anywhere else. I just think, ‘I’m a man, I don’t really need to! That’s the beautiful part about being a man! It’s a whole lot of trouble to do all that! But actually when we were doing some of the Kingdom shoots in our fight-wear – which is just shorts and that’s it – one of my friends on set who’s this awesome lesbian chick was like, ‘You know what I really dig? I really dig that you don’t shave or wax – keep that up!'”

he aint all that even with his dead brick personality.
Thanks.

@Virge: THANK YOU! I was over it after the third time. This is, like, the tenth.

Is somebody forcing you to click on stories you’re not interested in?
Raphael
I’m really intrigued by the part “…or anywhere else”. I’ll just let my imagination run free…
Jamie
Go click on Sports Illustrated if you don’t want to see Nick Jonas. Some of us like the guy. Besides, he’s not the first pretty straight dude to pander to the gay community, and he won’t be the last. Get over it.
Ronbo
@Virge: Pound sand. I’m glad Queerty shows inclusive individuals.
Haters just gotta hate. Right Hillers and Virge? It’s your nature.
Jamie
It’s frustrating that any of us in the gay community choose to complain about petty issues (such as Queerty’s coverage of Tom Daley and Nick Jonas) rather than direct anger where it’s needed: toward groups and politicians that want to promote inequality and deny everybody equal rights under the law.
It’s good to be mad and complain sometimes, but let’s direct it where it’s needed most.
Desert Boy
Well Nick, if you change your mind and decide to shave your balls, call me.
VampDC
Ok the Nick Jonas push is a little too strong on this site.
pressuredrop
Nobody made me click on this story.
Slash non-sequitur quote.
But, with every other story on this site being about a straight man, I guess it was bound to happen by accident anyway.
Blackceo
I will take Nick Jonas stories any day, all day over that other youngin Queerty loves to push who shall not be recognized by name.
Mack
For those who don’t like him, stop clicking on the articles. Personally I don’t think he should shave, but I do think he should keep his “bush” trimmed. A little hair is good on a man. Too smooth, might as well be a woman.
Virge
@Ronbo:
It’s go6 nothing to do with hate but thanks for showing us how your mind works.
It’s got to do with Nick Jonas is not so hot he needs coverage in Queerty AT–LEAST–ONCE–A–WEEK. You’d think they could find some other filler stories besides Nick Jonas.
jkb
@Jamie: AMEN!!

From the mouths of Lesbian babes. I actually like that he’s comfortable enough to share this with us and he’s not just gay-baiting for the ego BS like JF.

@Virge:
My goodness, so tired of seeing this scrawny kid posted over queerty. Once the few peds find some other kid to drool over maybe we can get some stories about real men.
NoCagada
SOMEBODY! PLEASE! FUCK HER!
Mark Jenkins
Better Nick Jonas than that diver kid- he was on Every Day for awhile- Sorry- Tom Daley- (I actually went blank for a minute there!) And he’s cute, too- but not every day- maybe you guys could pick a flavor of the week- 7 day limit and then you’re off!
JacksonsPassion
Dudes—-WTF is wrong with Queerty talking about a straight guy who is treating us (gay men and women) like “regular people”?? Isn’t THIS what we hope to see happen with ALL society??—(that they won’t look at us as ‘different’ or ‘wrong’ in some way? “Pandering”? I think he’s pretty awesome for his comfort level with gays. Seriously…it’s exciting that people Nick’s age are feeling incredibly more open-minded towards LGBT people than young people were some very short years ago! I can’t wait to see how accepting the NEXT generation (those being raised by Nick’s age group) will turn out. So why not celebrate his willingness to share that beautiful body (and mind-set) with us. Let’s be happy…society is beginning to come around…things are getting better one day at a time! 🙂
JacksonsPassion
Oh, and PS: As for the ‘non-manscaped’ look Nick’s got…I think it’s SOOOO much hotter than all the hairless guys out there nowadays. Not EVERYONE has to look like a 14 year old! LOL I love that Nick said “I’m a man, why should I have to shave everything off?”—that’s exactly how I feel (and the look I prefer). SOME hair is beautiful…and as for HIS body, I think he is “marked like a fine purebred!” GO NICK!! 🙂

Some random thoughts directed toward anyone:
-Nick is not a child, he’s 22 (and unlike Tom Daley, actually looks like an adult). Whether you like him or not, don’t try to pretend that your fellow commenters on here are pedos for being attracted to him.
-I’m fine with him not wanting to shave, but his quote DOES sort of imply that men don’t need to shave and women do (“I’m a man, why should I shave?” basically). Both men and women grow hair all over their bodies naturally, so it’s a glaring double standard to say men should be able to do whatever the hell they want, but women have to shave everywhere because it pleases men.
-(SPOILERS?): As for this back and forth about whether his “Kingdom” character will actually go there–I think he will. I’ve been watching, and out actor Jai Rodriguez popped up a couple episodes ago as someone who works in the PT office that Nick Jonas’ character goes to for rehabilitation. originally I was like “hmm–OK, a fairly well known out actor pops up for a few seconds in a Nick Jonas scene–that has to flesh out at some point.” Sure enough, Nick’s female therapist friend breaks off their relationship after he treats her like shit, and she mentions that Jai’s character is going to continue his therapy. There’s NO way they’re putting those two in a storyline together and not having something go down. So, yeah Queerty (and commenters)–tune in the next couple weeks to see what happens! (I promise I don’t, like, work for the show or anything. Haha.)

I think he’s hot and he has the the accepting stance regarding gay men that I would like to see across the straight boy spectrum. Hopefully his attitude enables other young straight males to be open minded and not homophobic pricks. Anyone who complains about the article and then comments at a level that makes it very clear you read the article, has no credibility when they say they are tired of articles on Nick. You read this one so obviously your not so fed up you avoideading them.
Regarding body hair, I am older than Nick Jonas but I grow about what he is showing. so I am hearing let it grow even if it’s sparse. I actually hate shave ping cause it itches in a day, glad it’s in to leave it alone.

If he is a man, he doesn’t need to put on that “Blue Steel” pout either. 🙂
Stache99
@JacksonsPassion: I’m naturally hairless and I can assure you that I don’t look like a 14 year old.
JacksonsPassion
Hi Stache99: Hi buddy–Hey, I wasn’t implying that a shaved (or naturally hairless) body is UN-attractive by any means. My comparison to “14 year olds” was basically a joke (although they DO typically have very little hair). LOL So, just for MY taste, a completely hairless guy (including shaved pubes and everything) is simply not as appealing as someone having some hair. I just prefer SOME body hair. But everyone likes what they like, eh? Anyway, all I was saying was that there IS still natural beauty in a guy with body hair. I’m sure you’re beautiful too, sir. 🙂
jwtraveler
He looks perfect just the way he is. Who decided that men have to act like women to be attractive–plucking, shaving, waxing, threading–yecch! And the worst is the shaved pubes. I think that’s meant to appeal to pedophiles. I like men who look like men, whatever way they are.
jwtraveler
@Jamie: Good point. @adventuretime: “I’m fine with him not wanting to shave, but his quote DOES sort of imply that men don’t need to shave and women do (“I’m a man, why should I shave?” basically). Both men and women grow hair all over their bodies naturally, so it’s a glaring double standard to say men should be able to do whatever the hell they want, but women have to shave everywhere because it pleases men.” Another good point.
Deadbolt_7720
Who decided that a huge bush and looking like someone smuggles kittens under their arms is the gay masculine idea? I prefer my men polish that involves shaving/waxing. I also dislike the current trend of every gay man having a beard. Just my preference.
DonW
@Deadbolt_7720: You prefer your men Polish? You should broaden your horizons and check out some sexy Czechs, Slovaks and Hungarians.
Oh, you meant “polished”? Never mind…
frshmn
Wait till he starts sprouting back and shoulder hair in a couple years, bet he will change his tune.
Stache99
@frshmn: I don’t mind body hair but I draw the line at back hair.
I'm Black, and HIV-Positive.
@adventuretime: “I’m fine with him not wanting to shave, but his quote DOES sort of imply that men don’t need to shave and women do (“I’m a man, why should I shave?” basically). It’s funny how gay men tip toe around the issue with women today, as it’s: Women today are actually outright rejecting their traditional gender roles. Which kind of is a double-standard in relation to men who still have to be men. We live in a culture where a woman is quick to shame a man with, “Man up!” if he appears to be “effeminate”. See, but with your post you’re actually trying to shame men back into effeminacy. See there’s alot of shaming going on here, and it’s weird, because if Nick is happy with his body (as a man) then you probably shouldn’t have any problem with that, because like Queerty user “frshmn” said (and I’m paraphrasing), “In a few years that most certainly won’t be the case where hair is concerned.” So what is it exactly that you’re still trying to say here? That men should start shaving out of respect? Because if your answer to that is “No!” then you never had a point to make.
I'm Black, and HIV-Positive.
@adventuretime: So what is it exactly that you’re still trying to say here? That men should start shaving out of respect? Because that would be stupid, and yet if your answer to that is “No!” then you never had a point to make here essentially in the first place. So… it looks like you just put your foot in your mouth.

Nick Jonas will be performing at the Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras in a couple of weeks, should be fun. I like that he’s embracing all aspects of his fan base
keepcalm
She’s a lesbian. She doesn’t wax or shave either.
