A note left for a self-described bisexual/queer man by his younger brother has been shared thousands of times, and it’s easy to see why.
Erick Enders found an envelope on his pillow after a long day at work; inside was a handwritten letter from his brother Sean, who is straight.
It read:
Erick,
I just want to let you know that I love you. We don’t have time in this life to be sad or hide who we really are because before you know it, it could be too late.
Love whoever you want, just love hard. I support and will support you in any way possible. I know we’re not the closest, but I just wanna let you know that I know and I don’t care because it doesn’t change you as a person.
So if you ever need to get anything off your chest, I’m right here. You don’t have to find your identity alone!
I love, I care, and I support you, Erick.
Love, Sean
I have something incredibly humbling to share with you. Earlier today, I came home from work, and found a card in an envelope placed on top of my pillow with my name. Inside the envelope was a card/letter handwritten by my youngest brother. He knows and accepts me. ????? pic.twitter.com/MhybNdeWkO

When Erick shared the touching note, he never could have expected the response it would receive online.
I can’t believe this tweet has blown up! I’m incredibly humbled for all the love and support I’ve received from not only my brother, but the people that have liked and shared this. I felt that I had to share it because maybe I can help someone who has been struggling like I have.

Like people are tweeting me these beautiful things, their own stories, their own photos, their own experiences. I’m so humbled right now and the amount of support and love from a world of strangers is beyond incredible. ???????

It’s never a bad idea to tell your loved ones what they mean to you.
Now please excuse us while we run out to buy some stationary…
It appears Erik took the plunge to come out publicly in July, and he shared a bit of that experience as well:

Congrats, Erick!

You can love hard, but you can love soft. There are bottoms too. LOL
Now, seriously, the letter is very beautiful and moving.

I am so happy for Erick. It has to be a wonderful feeling to get such support from friends and family. Some of us aren’t so fortunate. I can see how grateful he is. I wish him all the happiness. More stories like this please!!!

Wow, that was great. Had me tearing. Myself, I came out to a family that loved me no matter what (and had suspected for a long time). That included extended family, friends and co-workers – all back in 1992. I remember my father helping me find my first LGBT support group – back then we didn’t have Google Maps and he pulled out paper maps to show me the route. My boss was ecstatic and pointed me to resources for LGBT people.
I wish more people had these kinds of stories. Erick has a great brother, even if they’re not all that close. I hope the rest of his family is so loving.

it’s nice to know that there really are some great people out there. It helps those that need it to restore faith in humanity. How awesome this man must feel!
