We recently reported on Sonia Marra Nicholson
, the British lesbian who tragically died when the helicopter she was aboard crashed into New York’s East River. Now comes news that Helen Tamaki, Nicholson’s partner who was in the same accident, has also passed away.
The couple was visiting Manhattan for Nicholson’s 40th birthday with Nicholson’s mother and step-father. The mother was seriously injured, while her stepfather and the pilot received hospital treatment.
Tamaki was originally listed in critical condition but died from complications after “near drowning” starved her brain of oxygen, according to the city’s medical examiner.
