You may not have heard, but the current LGBT White House liaison Brian Bond will leave Barry O’s side at the end of the month to go work for the Democratic National Committee. But until the White House finds some new guy to fill Bond’s shoes in October, 33-year-old Raul Alvillar will serve as the interim liaison for the entirety of about one month. The month will likely be filled with pleasantly nodding while LGBT constituents yell at him for Obama not being fierce enough.

I’ve been visiting this site for a while and have realised Queerty is a racist site, always sinking to the lowest denominator.

I like his mustache.

@cafeboy: And what makes this site racist in your opinion?

hmmm. What does the White House liaison do?
Daniel Villarreal
The current liaison Barry Bond says his role is “1) To advocate within the building, and 2) Let the people know where the President stands on LGBT issues and the work we are doing for equality under the law.”

Cute.
Raul, please call me on day 31.

@Daniel Villarreal: What I don’t get is all the vitriol that is spewed by those who leave comments. Granted Queerty isn’t my number one source for news but if people don’t like your style of writing why bother coming back and being bitchy?
Politically Incorrect Thug
@Raven S: Gay men being bitchy? Rubbish!
Queer Supremacist
@Daniel Villarreal: R*c*sm = criticism of Obama. If he were a white southerner all those accusations would vanish into thin air.

@Raven S: Eff if I know. My editor just tells me that if people comment, then we’re doing our jobs. I’m honestly more surprised by how many anonymous commenters will stop in just to troll by hating on blacks, transpeople and women. Or wait… I’m NOT surprised by how many do it, just disappointed.
Two long-term goals of Queerty’s are to get a comment moderation system to help squash haters and trolls and to implement commenter profiles. I think both would really change the comment dynamics.
I like passion, disagreement, and even strongly-worded arguments. I just don’t like racism, misogyny, and transphobia. We all have our prejudices, but we’re supposed to grow past them and at least empathize with other oppressed groups, right?
Anyway, thanks for reading and commenting. I really do appreciate it.
