The OTHER Gay Book Scandal

While figures out whether they really want to blame a “glitch” for re-classifying gay books as “adult” and stripping them from standard searches and sales ranking, England’s Manchester University has its own gay book scandal. There, librarians filed away Homo Britannicus — “widely regarded as the most authoritative documentation of man’s habitation on earth” — in the Gay & Lesbian section. Students pointed out the error, and the tome was returned to its proper section — where only academics will bother with it, while gays will return to checking out Heather Has Two Mommies. The university blamed “simple human error.” Try that one, Amazon.
