Durand Robinson, co-owner of Atlanta’s gay club Traxx and an organizer of Atlanta’s Black Gay Pride, has been found dead in the middle of a downtown street due to a gunshot wound to the chest. Police say they have yet to find motive for the shooting, but note Robinson got into an argument “shortly before” his death.

Black Gay Pride? “Segregation now, segregation tomorrow, segregation forever”, I guess.
t money
thats not segregation in the traditional sense. its comunity building. the same way bears build community and the leather crowd builds community. they like to be around like minded people. where they feel comfortable and not judged.
idiots like you ^^^^ cant get past race.

Someone died and some idiot is talking race? Really, when are we gonna get past this whole race thing? You’d think a gay man would know better.
RIP Durand. Hope they catch the bastard who killed him.

I’ve never heard of him, but this is sad nonetheless.
I’m sure someone close to him knows who may be behind this murder.
Fear of retaliation may keep them from coming forward.

1. Met Durand at a fund raiser. Only spoke for a few minutes but was very, very cordial.
2. @Baxter see your point. Hopefully one day soon there will not be a need for a Black Gay Pride but in Atlanta the “regular” Gay Pride is basically all White all the time unless they need Drag Queens or HIV/AIDS outreach.
3. Thanks Queerty for covering this and not making it into some racial spin.

Oh nooooooooooo! I knew Durand for years, back in the days before he retired from Delta. Great guy ………….. always took time to chat …………….. always seemed to be in a good mood. He had a wonderful heart, and took on a LOT of responsibilities of raising the children of others early in his life. A great loss to this city, and his community.

What bugs me is people rating the article “LOL”. WTF? Why is this a funny article?
