Cleve Jones' 11th Hour Push to Get You to D.C.

More amusing than watching Anderson Cooper talk about a gay rights march without noting what it means to him personally is seeing National Equality March organizer Cleve Jones on the defensive.

What's interesting about this, and many other mainstream media reports about Obama and the gays is how the conversation is framed: How come Obama hasn't done more? Yes, these reports are required to include the requisite White House response … something about "but he is a fierce advocate" or some such. But the pressure mounts with these news reports.

And, Cleve hopes, with the march too.

I am well past the " I am over Obama " phase. I will not be voting Democrate this next election . I intend on voting for Sarah Frigging Palin.

Good segment, except for the little bit of ass-kissing to Barney Frank. The funny part was at the beginning when Cooper accidentally sounded like he chocked over the word "Gay". lol

The "news" this weekend will be about protesting Obama and HRC, not the quiet group on the West Lawn of the Capitol. While Cleve is "kissing the ring" of power, we'll be holding their feet to the fir of change. Obama must keep his F*#*ing promises.

I'm glad the dynamics of the March are changing from begging to radical protest. Cleve and the suits at HRC begging for attention never works. "We're here, we're queer – get used to it," is better than "Black-tie, we try – we're used to it."

Good luck to the real activists that aren't marching peacefully, but those who are screaming loud enough to get the attention we deserve. You just can't ignore messages delivered with anger. Obama will take notice and deliver on his promises. "Fierce Advocate" deserves "Fierce Activist." Get em.
