This district is overwhelmingly liberal and Democratic. Pushing for reform in DADT would not alienate the electorate in anyway.
The Gay Numbers
Timothy:
Healthcare costs roughly estimate 15 percent of our economy. The projection by 2020? Over 20 percent. That’s over a trillion and half per year addional dollars being wasted. This lose of money is eatting up the potential for new businesses, jobs and wage increases. It leads to absurd number of bankruptcies and failed businesses.
Where does most of that cost come from? The private health insurance companies, which subjects most American, unwittingly, to a regressive tax that is several times the rate of inflation. Most people do not k now about it becaue their employers pay for it, and take that out of increasing wages and hiring new people.
By 2020, they expect private premiums for employers to rise by 94 percent from, as I remember, 12,000 to 22,000 (or around this number) per employee. Or, to put it in terms I understand it, for every 3 people hired, that means 1 additional person is probably not going to be hired by me by that time for even a low end middle class job.
That’s the reality. The only contradiction is your idealogy.
