We love us some Liza Minnelli here at Queerty. Besides being Hollywood royalty and one of the most talented entertainers on the planet, Liza has long been one of our most tirelessly devoted allies. However, there’s one thing she won’t do and that’s perform “(Somewhere) Over the Rainbow,” the hopeful Oscar-winning song that’s been associated with her beloved mother Judy Garland for 75 years. But what do you know? Someone just posted a clip of precociously-talented 13-year-old Liza delivering a gorgeous, wistful interpretation of the anthem on Hedda Hopper’s Hollywood, a TV special hosted by the famed gossip columnist. It’s worth the wait.
Listen to this piece of vintage magic below.

Sorry but that was not a stunning rendition and I failed to hear any magic. That was just average. Now her mother had true magic and is one of, if not, the greatest singer of all time. But you gotta love Liza.

Simon Cowell would have called it “indulgent”.
