Forget same-sex kissing: Modern Family is going to venture into the territory of same-sex marriage.
When viewer rage over the show not having Mitch and Cam kiss reached producers and writers, we were told it was because the Mitchell character fears PDA. But what happens when the two are up at the altar?
“There is no doubt that is going to happen,” says Eric Stonestreet, who plays Cam, about a marriage between he and Mitchell. “I don’t know how that would happen with the real life legality…Maybe it would be a destination (wedding). Us going somewhere that gay marriage is legal. But they have to save some of that stuff. We hope to be on the air for seven years.”
Heh. Sounds just like Barack Obama‘s plan: If they’re around long enough, they’ll get to it.
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
In the meantime, we’ve got guest star Nathan Lane (!) playing Cameron’s “flamboyant friend” Pepper, so that should be wonderful.
Cam
Typical overeaction. People were pissed because it was an obvious double stqandard, so now they will have a big drawn out wedding episode. No doubt the big point of it will be that Mitchelle will not want to kiss Cam at the wedding and there will be several weeks of them fighting over this blah blah blah….
Ugh, just have one of them kiss the other one good-bye on the cheek once and it would have been fine. Hollywood is so full of drama queens.
