Below is the new protest anthem by Russian punk activists Pussy Riot titled Putin Will Teach You To Love The Motherland, filmed in Sochi and outspokenly anti-Putin, anti-Olympics and pro-gay.
You’ve got to hand it to them for having the balls to stand up and scream their beliefs in the face of the often brutal authoritative Russian government. Just this week they were arrested on bunk charges as a way of interfering with the song’s release, and it was only a few months ago that three members were released from prison after serving seventeen months in prison.
The video features lots of Olympic thrashing and condemns among other things the persecution of anti-Putin protestors, the jailing of anti-Olympics environmental activist Yevgeny Vitishko and Russia’s rampant homophobia. There’s also footage of Nadya Tolokonnikova, Masha Alyokhina and others being mercilessly beaten and whipped by Sochi’s conservative, religious Cossack militia.

Meanwhile, while some very brave Russians are putting their lives and freedom on the line, U.S. athletes are just fine and dandy with collaborating with the regime for personal gain, as is NBC.

I love them. I especially loved witnessing their bravery as they got horsewhipped, thrown to the ground and beaten by the thuggish Cossack creeps.
These women, Russian LGBTs and dissidents, and anyone standing up to the horrible hom0phobic laws in Russia deserve our support.
