Stop us if you’ve heard this one before: a Republican from Texas walks into a gay mixer. That Republican was none other than 90-year-old Rep. Ralph Hall from Rockwall, who mistakenly attended an event for the Gay and Lesbian Victory Fund.
Hall was seen sipping his drink and making polite conversation, to the befuddlement of the other guests:

“At that moment I realized that this was not the reception I intended to attend, and I put down my glass, thanked the sponsor, and told him we would be leaving,” Hall later said. “Many of those in attendance probably were surprised to see me walk in, but were not surprised to see me leave quickly,”
After news of his accidental alliance spread with the publication of Heard on the Hill’s “Ralph Hall Lets His Hair Down,” the nonagenarian quipped, “I would just say that while I do have a good head of hair for a 90-year-old, I do not have the quantity of hair, nor the inclination, to let it down.”
How about we take this to the next level?

It should make us wonder, at least briefly, just how many such doddering old fools -who don’t even know where they are- are crafting the laws that govern us all.
