"HOLIDAY PRANK"

Same-Sex Police Grab-Ass Earns Pro Hockey Player Slapshot On The Wrist

Screen Shot 2014-07-08 at 10.39.02 AMLast week we learned about bubbling, a bizarre act involving bodily fluids entering one’s own mouth that will definitely trigger the morality clause of your professional athletic contract.

Assuming of course that you happen to play professional sports. Don’t you?

But fear not sports fans, there’s still plenty of mischief for players to get into and still hang onto those hefty contracts.

Like grabbing a male police officer’s ass. Repeatedly.

That’s the stunt Canadian hockey player Claude Giroux drunkenly tried out in Ottawa on Canada Day (Canada’s equivalent of the 4th of July), and though it did earn him a night in jail, it seems the consequences ended there.

The Philadelphia Flyers player was released with no charges filed, the whole incident being chalked up to a “holiday prank.” In some circles, that would be called “sexual assault.”

Here’s the statement Giroux released:

I regret my actions on Canada Day and sincerely apologize to my fans, teammates and the Philadelphia Flyers organization for my misguided attempt at humor.

Following an investigation, law enforcement determined that charges are not warranted. I have the utmost respect for law enforcement and apologize to the Ottawa Police Department and specifically the individual officer. I will be making no further public comment on this matter…I remain 100% committed and focused on working with my team to return the Stanley Cup to Philadelphia.

So just to recap: bubbling — no; grab-ass — well, if you have to.
