» Hunter Gets A Rave: "A Triumph"

Hunter Parrish is getting raves for his break-out performance in Spring Awakening on Broadway. "In his Spring Awakening songs, Parrish reveals a singing voice so beautiful and emotionally expressive that, if he ever decided to give up acting (God forbid!), I'll bet he could have a major career as a pop singer. Another big surprise of his accomplished, deeply moving performance is his speaking voice. Without for a moment sounding affected, Parrish delivers Melchior's lines in resonant tones that indicate he'd be great in classical theater. (What a Romeo he would be! Hey, Mr. Producer…) In sum, his performance is a triumph."

Hunter Parrish has been showing lots of skin on this season of Weeds, but on Monday's finale he almost showed all. Parrish's character is sleeping with an older women and her ex husband walked in on them in the middle of it. The ex mocked her for sleeping with a twinky N'Sync member, but I think he was just jealous.

Parrish is currently in Spring Awakening on Broadway, where he is partially nude. "I've always been very comfortable with my body, so my parents grew up with me…you know, I wasn't exactly clothed all the time, " he says, although the stage is harder. "The first time I did it, I was like, 'Uh oh, there's a lot of people… staring at my butt." I've gotta get tickets so I can be one of those people.

» The Boys of Broadway

Michael Portantiere captured some great pictures of the boys (and everyone else) on Broadway this season at the Broadway on Broadway concert in Times Square on Sunday. Some of the highlights include Cheyenne Jackson, Drew Lachey, Michael Longoria, and my personal favorite Hunter Parrish. He's currently playing the lead in Spring Awakening.

Hunky actor Hunter Parrish has been hard at work rehearsing for his new gig in Broadway's Spring Awakening, the Duncan Sheik scored adaption of Frank Wedekind 1891 play.

Of course, the Weeds actor hasn't been too busy to embrace his local publications, like New York, with whom Parrish recently chatted about reclaiming his beloved stage, awkward sex scenes and the tribulations of being on a show about drugs:

I was in L.A. like five months ago and someone yelled from across the way, “Hey, where the weed at?!” …The number one question I’m asked is, “So do you guys smoke real weed?” And I’m always like, “Really?!” We live in L.A., but it’s not like we have medical marijuana cards.

Yeah, but you could at least have a drug dealer. And people say celebrities are glamorous. As if!

Things are looking good for Hunter Parrish.

The Weeds actor, who has blossomed into quite the hunk, will soon be taking Broadway by storm. in the Duncan Sheik scored Spring Awakening:

The show, based on an 1891 German play of the same name, centers around a group of teenagers dealing with abortion, rape, suicide, masturbation and even some S&M. It won three Tony Awards last year, including Best Musical.

Parrish, 21, will star as Melchoir, whose best friend kills himself and whose pregnant girlfriend dies after an illegal abortion. (Parrish may want to start poppin' some antidepressants now.)

He'll make his debut in September.

Better make your reservations, drama queens!
