Tony Perkins’ Sad Face Over Passports Losing Their Mother-Father Labels (Updated)

Beginning Feb. 1, U.S. passport applications will forgo asking travelers who their “mother” and “father” are, and instead will have entry fields for “parent one” and “parent two.” The State Department says these changes “improvements,” but Tony Perkins says, “Only in the topsy-turvy world of left-wing political correctness could it be considered an ‘improvement’ for a birth-related document to provide less information about the circumstances of that birth.” And as we all know, it’s important to take Mr. Perkins’ advice regarding children. UPDATE: Caving to pressure from “family values” groups, the State Department has updated the changes in the forms. They will now ask for “mother or parent 1″ and “father or parent 2.”

It appears that the language is being rescinded.”

Modified, not rescinded (they’ll use both): your URL claims:

‘However, State Department spokesman P.J. Crowley said Saturday that Clinton had not been aware that the terms “mother” and “father” would be stricken from the consular birth reports when she signed off on broader changes to the document last year.

‘”She has directed that the relevant forms retain to the existing references to ‘mother’ and ‘father’ in addition to the designation ‘parent’,” Crowley said. He said her decision would ensure that the documents are as inclusive and informative as possible.’

The idea is simply to avoid giving a Republican House of Representatives something to whine about.

Hilary Clinton, the woman who spoke about Health care changes for hours without any notes, all from memery “Wasn’t Aware” of these changes when she signed off on……..Changes to that very same document?

      Well then either
      1. That is a lie
      2. Her staff hid changes from her
      3. She doesn’t bother to do her job.

This actually isn’t that big of a deal, however, It will be a nice day when the DEMS stop being so terrified about the supposed backlash every time they do anything.
