A transgender woman has left behind her former life — including a wife and seven children — to live as a six-year-old girl with two adoptive “parents.”

Stefonknee (pronounced Stephanie) Wolschtt, 46, says she does not “want to be an adult right now.”

Her new identity expression was too much for Stefonkee’s wife of 23 years, who reportedly told her to “stop being trans or leave.”

“To me, ’stop being trans’ isn’t something I could do,” Stefonknee explains in the below video from The Transgender Project. “It would be like telling me to stop being 6’2? or leave.”

Now, she lives with a straight couple who’ve “adopted” her as their six year old daughter.

At least one of the couple’s biological grandchildren acts as her “big sister,” although the child is only seven years old.

“Their children and grandchildren are totally supportive,” Stefonknee says. “In fact, her youngest granddaughter… a year ago, when I was 8, she was 7, and she said to me, ’I want you to be the little sister, so I’ll be 9? and I said ’Well, I don’t mind going to 6,’ so I’ve been 6 ever since.”

Though her new lifestyle may raise eyebrows, Stefonknee describes it as therapeutic: “We have a great time. We color. We do kids stuff. No medication. No suicidal thoughts. I just get to play.”

“It’s a fresh start,” she says. “There’s unconditional love — I’m starting to feel like…I’m allowed to be exactly who I am, and I don’t have to apologize or make excuses why I’m different.”
