We won’t spoil the fun, but you do know one thing: Two fellas and two ladies left American Idol tonight. Who will we miss the most, for all the wrong reasons? Don’t click if you don’t want the spoiler.
Along with Luke Menard, America sent Danny Noriega home. When we asked you at the start of Idol, when the Top 20 was solidified, Danny received 32 percent of the “definitely gay” vote. Too bad he was outshined by all the other contestants. Yes, even Chikezie.
No worries, though: Cutie David Archuleta remains! We even bring you his performance this week on the next page.

I wish cheezy Chikezie had gone home instead of Danny. 😛

Danny should not have gone, but I can’t say I’m surprised that they got rid of the most flamboyant guy on this show.
His voice + personality definitely topped Jason’s, for one. Load of crap.

Also, I have to say that he was not outshined by all of the other contestants. His version of “Tainted Love” was really good.

I feel sad about this, only because I feel like I SHOULD somehow vent my outrage about how homophobic the mainstream Idol audience is, and how tragic that a flaming homo got booted.
Thing is, the boy is all Attitude and Pose (and a healthy dash of stereotype), and while his singing is passable, he’s got a range about an inch wide and half as deep. Sorry guys, but it’s not about him being flamboyant, it’s about him not being able to carry a tune.
And we can talk about the tough politics and the heartbreaking challenges of being a young girly boy in america all we want to, but it’s just not the reason (in my opinion) he was offed. For all its tolerance for cheesiness (by the boatload) it is, in the end, a singing show, not a look-at-me-strike-‘tudey-poses-and-use-texttalk-in-conversation-show.

Nothing against our “fierce” brothers or “sisters” but America isn’t gonna vote for a swish-bot…unless he is a truly great singer, which Danny is not, or unless he is drop dead drooly that the teenage girls want him anyway, again Danny is not that either.
Feeling Simon
If the kid on page two is any indication of the top tier of talent, horrible. No feeling in his song whatsoever. As much as I dislike Phil Collins even his limited range gave the song the emotion it deserved. Makes me glad I have missed ever episode this season and plan to continue to do other things when ‘AI’ is on.

WOW! My computer about bursted into flames. I guess there is a reason why I do not watch this show.

Danny was simply not that good. But he was fun to watch. I thought he and Chickeezy were going to start making out waiting for the results!

YAY QUEERTY! Great spoiler alert. I know us uppity gays have been all over ya for the spoilers. This was perfect. Cheers.

What’s funny is the people who hate American Idol taking the time to read + post on articles/updates specifically about the show, then let everyone know how much they hate it + won’t be watching.

AI is now less fierce!

When he was singing, I’m sure stripper boy was crying behind him.

I’ll miss Danny. He’s got spunk. He should have wagged his finger at Simon as he left.

I know, it’ll be so much less fierce. I really liked Danny. He was very comfortable w/ himself, which I appreciated.

I think Danny would be great hosting some cheesy talk show or something. He could sing okay but he was not great. I really think the tape that came out really hurt him. Its not at all flattering.

Danny can sing, but I think he became too wrapped up in “performing” and forgot the competition is about, at least on some vague level, singing. Danny can *blow*, but he picked… really silly songs for his voice.
I would miss him, but there are so many other gay male contestants….. and with better dance rhythm, too.
