Cher Completes New Album, Confirms Track With Jake Shears

Cher-Womans-World-400x300Cher confirmed her plans to dominate every decade of music yesterday morning by tweeting a message to fans, letting them know the long-awaited follow-up album to 2001’s Living Proof is finally complete.

The infallible diva, who currently holds the record for topping the Billboard charts through six consecutive decades, proved there’s life in the old dog yet by laying down a brand new track featuring…wait for it…Jake Shears! Let’s hope whatever they’re pulling together has the campy realness of “Let’s Have A Kiki”; we’re in desperate need of a new summer anthem.

The new album is scheduled to drop this summer, and is rumored to feature collaborations with Timbaland, Lady Gaga, and P!nk. Maybe now that Cher is besties with Scissor Sisters frontman Jake Shears, he can introduce her to his longtime BFF Kylie Minogue? Could you even imagine?!

I don’t think Cher would appreciate being referred to as an “old dog!” lol BTW Shears and Babydaddy (also from Scissor Sisters) co-wrote and produced the Kylie Minogue hit “I Believe in You” in 2004.

“The infallible diva, who currently holds the record for topping the Billboard charts through six consecutive decades”

Barbra Streisand put out the same release when her last CD topped some Billboard chart – she was the only singer ever to have charted #1 album releases in six consecutive decades. Cher tops the “dance” and Streisand the “easy listening” or something, both are stretching they “topped the Billboard chart” because neither did the main one.

BTW, thank God they were “six CONSECUTIVE decades”. Otherwise the singing octogenarians.

Oh dear GAWD Queerty, did you really suggest that maybe Cher could introduce Jake to Kylie M? Seriously?
