While much of the world remains fixated on the World Cup, a crowd in Hong Kong has found a rather different reason to cheer.
A gay couple was recently spotted getting “better acquainted” in a third story apartment in the Sheung Wan neighborhood, and this being 2018, everyone instinctually reached for their phones.

Whether the couple was conscious of the scene they’d caused or whether they were blissfully unaware, wrapped up in the moment (we strongly suspect the former), the result was the same: the video quickly spread across social media and went viral on YouTube.

Really? Human beings are still giddy and titillated about what adults do in their own homes? Get a life!
Bryguyf69
Are you claiming you don’t get excited watching porn or gay webcams?
argleflarglebargle
Because porn, webcams and looking in someone’s window are the exact same things
Bryguyf69
argleflarglebargle – Er, read the original post. It expressed incredulity that people are “titillated about what adults do in their own homes.” Guess what Black Pegasus was referring to. Cooking? Cleaning? Sleeping? Nope, s/he was talking about sex. And yes, porn and webcams, depict sex. Indeed, webcam sites like Chaturbate often show what ordinary people do sexually. And most of us are turned on by it. So what’s so surprising about people being turned on by this? THINK about it. Duh!
GayMafiaKingpin
I’m not sure how that’s considered cheering them on. They watched for a while, chatting amongst themselves, then, at the end, discovered the second person was a dude and they sounded like they exclaimed in surprise.
Basically, nothing to see here.

You’re mostly correct. Many, if not most, already suspected or knew that it was two gay men. My Cantonese is weak but here goes…
0:15 – “it’s definitely a man”
0:26 – “it’s a man”
0:31 – “they’re gay men” (“gay lo” is Cantonese for “gay man”)
0:45 – crowd chants, ” GET UP! GET UP!” (“hay sun”)
While the crowd wasn’t exactly cheering, many if not most, suspected or knew that it was two males. But you’re right, the video ends when the passive partner got up and verified that he was a man. I guess they couldn’t tell from the bottom’s legs on top’s shoulders when they were in the missionary position. Chinese men do tend to be mostly smooth.
Kangol
An impromptu live sex show involving consenting adults? Having seen a few myself, my sense is that many adults WANT to watch or at least get a peek, especially if one or both of the participants are even semi-attractive, and it’s only the prudes who run away.

Quoting Peter Sellers in “Being There”, I say: “I like to WATCH”.

No, “gay Lo” though literally translated is “gay man”, it has a lot of negative connotations and could arguably be “f*g” in Cantonese. Just listen to the tone they say “gay lo” even if you don’t speak the language.

Do these two male exhibitionists have no shame? Public lewd conducts and public display of sexual activities are illegal in Hongkong or should be illegal. Let the police arrest these two attention whores, lock them up in jail and register them as sex offenders.
sirald66
Your public shaming has been noted.
Feel better? Yes?

Could somebody please call for Aunt PittyPatt’s smelling salts?

Perhaps they should arrest you for clutching your purse and running…..

Hong Kong is one of the least homophobic regions in Asia. There have been positive gay TV characters as well as celebrities. The late Leslie Cheung, considered one of Asia’s biggest superstars, was openly gay and his death (by suicide) was nationally mourned. In a CNN International poll about ten years ago, Cheung ranked #3 for favorite entertainer of all time — ahead of Michael Jackson. That despite being gay.
There is definitely still homophobia in Hong Kong and mainland China, but it’s very different from Western homophobia. In the west, it’s religiously-based and religiously-justified. In Asia, especially Buddhist countries, it’s more based on tradition and the duty to procreate. That’s because Buddhism isn’t inherently homophobic, punitive or judgmental. The religion is more about self-growth and enlightenment. As younger people place less emphasis on procreation, attitudes have changed. That said, I do recognize that homophobia is still horrible in Catholic Philippines, and Muslim Indonesia and Malaysia.

To show how attitudes have changed in China, consider this viral video of a young man proposing to his boyfriend on a Beijing train. The video was widely shared on social media, and the response was overwhelmingly positive. The very fact that he dared propose on a crowded train clearly means that he felt safe. Except for one [older?] rider saying, “disgusting,” the response consisted of smiles and applause.
The man gets on one knee and presents his boyfriend with a watch and this speech: “I want everyone I know or I don’t know to witness this. I will be loving you for the rest of my life…”
Although gay marriage isn’t recognized in mainland China or Hong Kong (which is governed by the mainland), Taiwan may have marriage equality next year.

As Bette Davis would say: WHAT A DUMP!

If I had a WILLING adult audience outside my hotel, I’d love to be on my knees and perform for them with my boyfriend. Not so much going to jail is worth it though.

It looks to me like the windows are super steamy or have a slight frosting. Is it possible they couldn’t see outside but with the lights on we can see inside better? But either way…is it illegal to have sex in your own house? It’s not like it was public sex or anything. The only thing drawing attention to it is the adolescent reaction of the audience.
Lacuevaman
they should be separated, locked up and deported…. but only after they “turn the beat around” ….
DCguy
What a shock, the account that regularly supports Trump and defends anti-LGBT bigots wants lgbts locked up.
LilMesican
Good for them for feeling so comfortable with their sex life and being able to do it so freely. I’m not that adventurous… Catholic guilt and all.
Sounds like the crowd is really enjoying the show. You’d think they were watching a championship game.
Me being me, I find the one gentleman bringing the other a towel at the end a very romantic gesture… Or, we’re done, go home!
🙂

Guys, no. I’m from Hong Kong and speak Cantonese, and even though most of the crowd was shouting, they’re no chewing them on. Have you watched Carrie? You wouldn’t call the crowd laughing at her “cheering” right?
In the middle of the video you can hear a guy say “it’s a guy!(about the person being penetrated)” and then someone said “f*g”.
Hong Kong is still a very homophobic place, even among young people, sometimes it feels like people from Mainland China are more accepting of homosexuality.
Oli1023
*not cheering
Terrycloth
Not. Once did they look out the window and notice crowd forming..its a city when buildings are close together. .I would close curtains its nobody’s business what I do in bed.what if the couple in the video were into S&M and one partner was being whipped or tied up ? Would anyone from the crowd cheer or call police
