Another day, another great new(ish) band from Australia. The Presets will be touring the U.S. later next month, but do a little preview by way of the video for “If I Know You”, which is one-part Billy Elliott, one-part Children of the Corn, but set entirely in L.A. Sign you have a cool band? Great t-shirts. Video after the jump.

The video is quite good. I was turned off by the song until the 1 min mark, but after re-listening to it, I like it.
Who’s queerty’s new music reviewer? Is the vote total shown now the final or did people keep voting after the end of the contest?

My friend’s band The Golden Filter is touring with them and they are both awesome bands.

I actually enjoyed that one. I don’t get the Children of the Corn reference above, but this was a decent track with a reasonably entertaining video to accompany it. I’ll have to look into these guys.

Check out their video for “This Boy’s In Love” which has 2 men slow-motion wrestling in milk.
The video was made specifically to be homoerotic, although neither of the two guys in the band are gay. The video was pitched to them and they thought it was a creative idea and thus saw no reason not to make it.
They’re huge where I’m from (Melbourne), and the whole of Australia in general. They won the Album-of-the-Year at the ARIAs (Aussie grammy equivalent) last year for “Apocalypto”.
