Because I am a cheerleader for gay media, and because the closure of the Chicago Free Press — and the bizarre disappearance of publisher David Costanzo — I figured it’s at least worth mentioning the launch of Zeus, a new gay men’s rag that mentions, in the first line of its own press release, “the gay men’s magazine niche [is] collapsing upon itself.” It is apparently a magazine about men wearing their underwear.

Obviously if you took a look at the preview of the magazine you would see it’s much more. Sex sells. And where were your complaints when Instinct and Out used the same devices? The more magazines the better. Go Zeus!

I have to agree with Erik. There is nothing on the magazine’s Facebook page or website that suggests that Zeus is only about men in their underwear. If you are going to do a half-assed bitchy review either investigate the facts or don’t do one at all.

10 months later looks like Queerty goofed up. Zeus is bigger than ever and Out is being sued!
