Maybe all angry ex drunks should be given a child.

“It gives you an incredible feeling of having achieved something. When the nanny tells me about my children’s day, I feel like I have done something good! And the children and I have become so close. Why just last week, I passed by their bedroom and the doors were open, and for a second I almost saw them. It made me feel tingly all over. Or that could have been the drugs.”

@MikeE: I wish you were being sarcastic.
MikeE
@2eo: so do I, so do I.

@QJ201: Comment of the week. Why did Queerty get rid of “The Week in Comments” anyway?
QJ201
@jwrappaport: too much work… And lack of cultivating an audience
andy_d
@MikeE: Like.

From what I’ve heard from people who’ve met him it would take a brain transplant to make Elton John a nicer person.
Katbox
“Fatherhood has made me a nicer person…but I’ll still take money from bigots, hire twinky escorts, knock-down claim that “civil unions” are more enough- or anything else for that matter until it directly affects me.”
Dxley
He’s kidding, right?
Goforit
Nicer to whom? EMNEM while defending his homophobic hate speech lyrics, to Rush Limbaugh while performing ( for 1 million dollars) at his 4th wedding or nicer to Putin while he helps to murder even more of his nations people? That poor child!

When exactly did that nice gene kick in? I seem to have missed it.

Ok,
The first two comments in this thread made me laugh out loud.
Elton is a nasty, poisonous self centered toad. This is the man who attacked gays saying that they should just be satisfied with civil unions and were idiots for bothering to fight for marriage.
Then, he couldn’t adopt a kid because his civil marriage wasn’t recognized and suddenly, because it had to do with HIM it was an important topic. So even civil rights meant nothing to him until he needed something.
Fitz
This anti gay rights, Rush Limbaugh’s wedding singer, Putin’ puppet, baby buyer (since his age and drug use and emotional instability disqualified him from adopting) is now “nice”. Wow, dear lord… may I never be called “Nice” if that is what it looks like.
Polaro
@Fitz: Technically he isn’t anti-gay. He just actually doesn’t give a shit. He got his. He is just the worst, money-grubbing has-been parading around on a stage we currently have.
2eo
@Polaro: He’s shown to be anti gay rights though, actively attacking people who ask for them in the public and private eye.
dvlaries
Thank you for that, Elton. It’s the quality of yours we like best, your fine tuned, self-effacing sense of humility.
Cam
It is so surprising what topics can unite people on this site. We may all be at each other’s throats on OTHER topics. But one thing apparently most gays can agree on…..That Elton John is a self centered douchebag. lol

Not_nice_enough.

YOU played Sun City at the height of the anti-apartheid movement.
YOU played for El Rushbo’s 4th marriage.
You intend to play in Russia despite their horrendous oppression of LGBT people.

Fuck you and the high horse you rode in on.

@Tone: I get it. So, instead of the website “afterelton.com,” we need to start another website called, “wearesooverelton.com?”
MikeE
@Caleb in SC: thankfully, afterelton.com has rebranded and is now “thebacklot.com”.
I really wish people would get over Elton John. He wrote pop songs. it’s not like he’s the second coming of Mozart. he hasn’t written anything that should impress anyone.
And on top of that, he’s a bitchy, vindictive, self-centered, entitled old queen.
Polaro
Elton John was a great singer in the 70’s. He was OK in the 80’s and he has sucked ever since. He has milked it for everything it is worth, good for him, I guess. Problem is, he is a raging asshole that I would like see evaporate into obscurity.
