Gay (And Other ‘Special’) Families Absent From Obama’s Family Day Proclamation

On Monday Barack Obama issued the president’s annual Family Day proclamation, and he forgot, or purposefully failed to mention, same-sex families. “Scandal!” But he called us out last year, and included us in this year’s Mother’s Day and Father’s Day memos, and he didn’t mention single parents and every other type of family unit, so he totes get a pass, yah?

    Obama issues LGBT Pride Month proclamation, invites gays to White House events, includes gays in nationally broadcast speeches: Queerty bitches.

    Obama DOESN’T include gays: Queerty bitches.

    Some straight people use the word “gay” when it is basically chic to do so. Otherwise most of them are cowards and stay silent as the wind of oppression passes over them peronally. That includes the politician Barack Obama.

    Can we just assume that by ‘family’ he now includes everyone?

    @Brutus:

    Obama issues LGBT Pride Month proclamation – June was already the month that most Pride events took plce.

    invites gays to White House events – to hear his fancy speeches about how much he cares when he doesn’t give a damn

    includes gays in nationally broadcast speeches – includes gays in nationally broadcast speeches so he can get points with voters

    Obama DOESN’T include gays: Queerty bitches. – Obama doesn’t do anything meaningful for gays: Queerty bitches.

    Fixed for you.
