We knew Charles Perez, the gay former news anchor for Miami’s WPLG, was going to do some trash talking in his new memoir. With Confessions of a Gay Anchorman dropping Tuesday, sneak peeks at Charlie’s angst after his unceremonious removal in 2009 (for being too gay, went the reports) are here. But for now it’s just what he thinks of his old bosses and colleagues at WABC 7 in New York, where he worked for two years. He uses some pages to blast former colleagues, including anchor Sam Champion, the blonde gay now co-hosting Good Morning America, and management: “Bottom Line: WABC was by far the most overstaffed facility I’ve ever worked in; it was the slowest at doing anything. In addition, nearly everyone, including myself, was paid stupid amounts of money.” Can’t wait to see what cattiness he reserves for WPLG

He’s complaining that he was paid too much? His next employer has a simple solution to that.

I don’t think he’s complaining that he was paid too much, he’s recognizing that on air personalities in general are paid ridiculous amounts of money.

I felt bad for Perez when his ex boyfriend broke into his email and sent private stuff to his bosses. And when he was screwed by his bosses in Miami. But he seems to attract a lot of drama. ANd writing a nasty tell-all won’t do anything to repair his reputation.
I’m guessing he realizes that he’ll never work in TV news again (or at least not anytime soon).

What is his ex-boyfriend’s name? Stay away from THAT guy!

Major loser. No one wants to work with him.
