This is really heart-breaking stuff. I admire Ted Kennedy much, much more than I admire anyone else in US politics today. As an Irishman, I admire his work and compassion on behalf of the thousands of undocumented Irish immigrants, and – of course – as a gay person, I absolutely admire his work and support for the gay movement. It’s even more remarkable that Kennedy is from a generation that is typically very, very homophobic. I hope he returns to good health!

Truly a sad moment in liberal politics. One of the last Senators who even know that we have a constitution.
Painful , apparently incurable kind of cancer. bummer.

A man you could always count on to stand on principle and fight for the advancement of civil rights, equality and justice. A political hero.

Can we get more news here about Kennedy’s prognosis?
michael
I am so sorry for he and his family but he is not gone yet! People do sometimes beat these things. My prayers are with him and I hope many others.

One of our true friends. I hope he thoroughly recovers and rids himself of that tumor.

I may not always agree with Sen. Kennedy’s politics. In fact, I very rarely do. However, I wish a man of great principle and wisdom a speedy recovery that lasts many years.

Noting better could happen to the Murderer at Chappaquidick, you slimy alcoholic whose politics have for years added countless trillions to our national debt. Oh, Teddy, as you march to your grave, please push the senile, former grand wizard of the KKK, sleezy, corrupt while waving his pocket version of the Constitution, colleague from West Virginia, Senator Robert Byrd over a cliff. Good riddance to both of them.
Mitt Romney for Senator from Massachusetts!!
M Shane
Sorry RPCV this is still a Republic and that Constitution is still held sacred by a few people. You’ve been fucking too many rutting boars lately–douche !. think befor you defile some of the few great Americans left Robert Byrd was one of the only congressmen who spoke up against the unconstitutionality of turning the Congresses war powers to Bush.
Try thinking before you do anything else.

M Shane: Obviously you’ve been drinking waaaay too much Kool Aid. When are you and your liberal friends going to recognize that doom = Kennedy, Byrd, Boxer, Pelosi, Obama, Clinton, and all the other left-of-center loons??
