Retired NFL quarterback Kordell Stewart has responded ex-wife Porsha Stewartâs allegations that he is gay⊠by making offensive comments about gay people.
âIâm not on the down low,â Kordell said in a radio interview yesterday. âIâm a 100 percent man. I donât do no homophobic. I donât do no none of that. There is nothing about no dude I see.â
Then he added, almost as an afterthought: âAll due respect.â
Evidently, gay men are not â100 percentâ men in Kordellâs eyes.

To recap: During last Sundayâs season premiere of the Real Housewives of Atlanta, Porsha claimed she was completely blindsided by Kordell when he filed for divorce back in March. He didnât give her any warning ahead of time (in fact, she learned about it on Twitter), nor did he offer any explanation as to why he was leaving her.
This led Porsha to question if the gossip were true: Was Kordell gay?
Rumors that he hooks up with men on the sly have plagued the NFLer for years, long before his marriage to Porsha, including one that he been arrested after he was caught hooking up with a transvestite in a park in Pittsburgh.
According to Kordell, the reason he filed for divorce from Porsha had nothing to do with this, and was instead because she would stay out until 3 and 4 oâclock in the morning. He also denied blindsiding her with the divorce filing, claiming she asked him for a divorce because she couldnât afford to file for one herself.
âWhen your wife look you in your face and tell you to file for divorce and the only reason sheâs not filing is because she donât have the money and she donât have nothing to loseâŠare you kidding me?â he said.
At this point, weâre not sure who to believe. Honestly, weâre still trying to wrap our heads around the whole â100 percent manâ comment.

So why is he the subject of gay rumours rather than bisexual rumours?
Because many people, whether consciously or subconsciously, still regard being gay as a crime. Against nature &/or God even if not the current civil law. The basic logic is that if a person has committed a homosexual act then he/she has committed a crime – the “crime” of being “gay”.
Gay people (many of whom have committed a few heterosexual acts in their time) are fools to be complicit in this bullshit.

Really the Pittsburgh rumor was that he was caught by the police giving a guy oral on one of the paths in the “fruit loop” section of Schenley park. The cops didn’t want a big scandal so they let him off with a warning. According to the rumors, he was caught again by the police getting pounded out by a guy. This time the cops did arrest him and it took all of the Rooney’s clout to suppress the story. Not long afterwards Kordell became an ex-Steeler. The stories were very specific and not a lot of str8 people know about the fruit loop back then.
Furthermore, I believe, although I may have been mistaken, that I saw Miss. Kordell sitting at a table wearing a large floppy hat, at a gay bar in Pgh then known as “New York, New York.”
Kordell seems to me to be the black Travolta.

I am a gay man that lives in Pittsburgh, and hence not a big fan of Kordell. He sucked as a quarterback. But I find these rumors of being gay a little hard to swallow (no pun intended). These are just rumors, and there is nothing to substantiate them. There is nothing wrong with Kordell denying that he is not gay, if he is not gay. He talks like a dummy, and he probably is (no big surprise), but he really spent most of the interview talking about what a bad person/wife/mother Porsha is. I definitely think she is a b*tch and phony wannabe, from watching her on the show. He only talked about the gay rumors when the interviewer directly would make him answer to them. I got the feeling he wouldn’t even had mentioned it otherwise. His 100% man comment was just a dumb comment from a dumb jock, and I hardly find it bothersome.
Teleny – I hardly think that just because these stories ‘are very specific’, doesn’t make them true. Maybe they were started by a gay man. Even gays are rabid Steeler fans and hated Kordell just because he was a terrible quarterback. We all know gays that use the gay label on straight guys as a ‘dig’. And plenty of straight people know about the loop. That place and what happens there is far from a secret. And for being at ‘New York, New York’, means nothing, even if he was there. Straights went to NYNY all the time, in fact, at times it was probably 50/50 gay/straight.
I think Porsha was completely out of line to talk about this personal stuff on TV in the way that she did. There is a child involved, and what she did was completely out of line and irresponsible.
