For anyone who has ever felt afraid to show their bodies or wear bright “women’s clothing”, Troy Solomon is here to change your life and self-image.
Also known as Lord Troy, Solomon is a 32-year-old plus-size model who uses his Instagram to promote self-love and body positivity. He does this by absolutely slaying lewk after lewk in dresses, robes, shades, footwear and cute AF accessories — all while rocking the nail polish and makeup — proving that genderqueer fashionable is both fun and sexy.
“There’s really no specific formula to it,” he said on a Beautycon 2018 panel discussing how people can embrace their own genderqueer fashion. “[There are] so many people out there who are already doing that just by being themselves, and I think that’s the coolest thing about what we all represent. It’s just being who you are, expressing who you are, and not being ashamed of it, and not letting anybody else’s judgment take that away from you.”
Solomon not only launched his own cosmetics line, Pärdē, last November, he’s also a musician. In fact, he just released his latest album, Teenage Honeymoon. And if you want some of his older cuts, his 2019 song “Thicck” was a much-needed body-positive anthem, and the music video for his song “Jeez” showcased the ways that guys contribute to toxic masculinity by showing them acting like d-bags in a male beauty pageant.
Slay Solomon, slay.

Clearly this is just a personal judgement, but one shared by a huge number of Gay men. Long and painted nails and clothing stripped of functional detail look no less ridiculous on men than they do on women.
The entertainment value of drag queens comes from the fact that they are not sexy, but silly, more court jester than siren.
DarkZephyr
You have not been paying ANY attention to current drag culture and fandom obviously. At any rate, its definitely a personal judgment on your part and one that I and a huge number of gay men don’t agree with. So you can do you and he can do who he is and the world can be at peace.

Fat does not mean bear…fat means fat. I’m sure he has a collection of moo moos, or in his case moo moo moos. Bears are big hairy solid men. Nothing wrong with being fat if that’s your choice. Just dont call yourself a bear
Griff_Greymuzzle
Are you really trying to gatekeep the bear community?? Bear doesn’t mean fat TO YOU. But to many of the men who show up every weekend at the Lone Star in SF (you know, where a lot of this whole Bear thing started in the first place) this is exactly what an actual Bear looks like. They may not be the porn version, which is obviously what you are basing your tiny-minded view on, but that doesn’t mean they are any less viable as a part of the Bear community. Free your mind. Life is not a porno.

It is great to see a large man having fun with his clothes. If he ever has a yard sale I hope I get first choice on all these fun fun fun outfits. I would wear them. In the gay community there are so many different interpretations of different types of men. Let’s just enjoy ourselves.
GaysForTrump
An overweight, self-promoting gay man.
Have fun with that.
Walter21
He’s not sexually assaulting anybody, stealing from anybody or threatening to overturn the government. Absolutely someone I can have fun with.
BexarBlu
As opposed to the overweight, self-promoting, insurrectionist, p***y grabber in your screen name?
Kangol2
You sound so unhappy and pathetically judgmental. Look in the mirror girl and don’t scream at the fright staring back at you. Instead, get yourself to a psychologist’s office, pronto!

Tombear
I love bears and this guy is handsome but his moobs are a big turn off for me. Not all bears have moobs!

It was “goddesses” like this that kept me in the closet through my teens. As someone who is attracted to men, and not male caricatures of women, this is the kind of gay culture I saw. I found all the flamboyant costumes unappealing. This type of style is a cry for attention. Which it gets.
