Servicemembers Legal Defense Network promises the Senate’s gallery will be taken up by active duty servicemembers (in civilian clothes), rotating in shifts beginning today, until the chamber passes the standalone Don’t Ask Don’t Tell repeal bill. And they’ve got the support of Sen. Joe Lieberman! And maybe some other senators! Who want to hang out and play dice, and maybe some flip cup, while McCain makes a fool of himself.

Not sure why, but QUEERTY seems pretty silent on the fact that the cloture vote on DADT is scheduled for Saturday Dec 18, 2010. If the cloture vote is successful, there is a 30 hour waiting period to consider the bill before the final vote (which can be waived if enough senators agree to that).
