We admit we’ve never been to Japan, but we’ve certainly heard tales (and the occasional meme) about some the impressively askew captions and logos you’ll see as the results of poor translation from English to Japanese.
Well, an imgur user by the name critcraw took it upon himself to photograph his favorites while on a recent trip, and he found some real keepers. Personally, we’re rather fond of “New York: Town of Hipsters.”

This is true. I went there a couple of years ago and laughed out loud at some of the tshirts. Go some very strange looks, but they were so incongruous.

This is cute but what I hate is when people speaking a foreign language are making fun of you and you have no idea what they’re saying. When I lived in Florida briefly I was called a maricon (sp.) asked at work, my assistant who was PR,what it meant. In San Francisco Chinese are making fun of me the White Devil and I don’t speak the language (I was dating a guy from Taiwan),
