Angel Colon was shot three times by Omar Mateen during the massacre at Orlando’s Pulse nightclub on Sunday morning; a homophobia-fueled attack that claimed 49 lives and left 50 people seriously wounded.

Miraculously, Colon managed to survive — thanks in no small part to the aid of Eatonville Police Office Omar Delgado, who helped him escape the club.

Now, video footage from ABC shows Colon — currently recuperating at the Orlando Regional Medical Center — reunited with the policeman who saved his life.

It’s the first time they’ve seen each since the shooting, and they smile at one another the moment Delgado walks into the room.

“My name is Officer Omar Delgado,” he says. “I’m one of the ones that helped you get out of harm’s way. I need a big hug.”

In a room stuffed with balloons and flowers, the two embrace. Delgado repeatedly says he’s “so glad” Colon is alive as Colon’s family cry and hug.

“I’m getting there, little by little,” says Colon. Of the meeting, he says, “I was so happy. I’ve been wanting to see the man that took me out of that horrible place.”

“You only get one life,” Delgado says. “I’m glad now that he can be with his family and continue living his life.”
