Whiteville, North Carolina resident Mary Gowans won’t be winning the “Mother of the Year” award anytime soon. In fact, the only award she’s eligible for now is a misdemeanor charge of child abuse.
Gowans was cuffed after police arrived at her home on Saturday night, where she had allegedly instructed her 12-year-old son to “beat the gay out of” her 15-year-old son.
She told local CBS affiliate WNEM that he’s been visiting a gay man’s house recently, and she fears her son is being molested.
Her son was forced to strip down to his underwear before the attack, leaving him with a “large abrasion” on his back. The intoxicated woman said she “doesn’t agree with the gay lifestyle” but would never hurt her children.” (Did we miss something??)

Women tend to be homophobic as part of their gender war against men. This is why society, in general, is more homophobic toward male homosexuality than female homosexuality.

@Vartan X.: I’m extremely white and as queer as queer can gayly be. I have yet to feel “Blacks hating gays” in my life. The hate I feel comes from Republicans, the overwhelming majority of whom are white.
So, yes, how silly of you. But the fault here isn’t “the white man’s”.

I don’t think it should be said as a generalization that “blacks hate gays”, but I don’t think the response to that should be “No, whites hate gays”. Fighting racism with racism is absurd.
