Hundreds of guys pitched their tents and enjoyed three days and nights of nearly naked games, dancing and weenie roasts during Camp 2011 , held Aug 19-22 at the clothing-optional Woods Campground in the Poconos.
Nitecamp founder James Tate brought in top talent—like DJ Escape, Pepper MaShay (“Dive In The Pool”) and Cole and Hunter of Maverick Men fame—to keep things hopping (and sweaty) in the woods, with all-day pool parties, all-night outdoor dance parties, a foam party in a bouncy house, a 100-foot Slip N’ Slide, a fetish party in a barn, and more we can’t discuss (What happens at Camp, stays at Camp. For the most part.)
The whole Swish Edition team was there to tape a great episode, complete with chats with DJ Escape and the Maverick Men themselves, live in our official Swish RV.
Take a look at our party pics above, then listen the show below.
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.

What? Where did all those boys come from? This was a local event for me and I didn’t recognize a single person in any of those pics. lol
QJ201
Looks like the “Maverick Men” were there looking for new guys to bareback.
Thomas Maguire
I’d hit it!
pierre
It looks perfectly ghastly!
Glad I Missed It
Let me repeat: GLAD I MISSED IT
christopher di spirito
Some of the boys are hot but, I’m not feeling the mud bath thing.
Thomas Maguire
@christopher di spirito: The fun is not in the mudbath but the shower following the mudbath.
Mark
These guys sure don’t look like the radical fairies I know.
mike128
Yeah – Is this really the radical fairies? doesn’t look like a radical fairy event to me.
badlydrawnbear
Looks more like your avg circuit party weekend
R. Scott Wallis
@mike128: I think you missed the “not so…” part of the title.
Hephaestion
Since when are DJs described as “talent”? How low we have stooped.
Lefty
I don’t really see the appeal in photos of people having fun.
Either it’s a picture of some hot dude alone looking at the camera (ie me) lasciviously or I want to see people in the depths of misery.
It’s what I come to Queerty for.
mike128
Ah – reread the title… makes a lot more sense now.
Ray
Clothing optional and they gays kept their clothes on? I find that hard to believe.
Chico
@Glad I Missed It: the feeling is mutual I’m sure
mike
pepper mshay was NOT there AND THE PRODUCER RIPPED OFF ALOT OF PEOPLE
Mark
Pepper Mshay was there, I’m 100% positive. However overall the weekend was indeed a rip-off. I certainly won’t be going next year. All the hot guys were in their little cliques. Very stuck-up and unfriendly.
ron
@Mark: Truly “hot” guys would never even attend such a ridiculously assinine event.
Mark (#8)
ah I misread the headline as well. No radical fairies, just some tinkerbells…..
Mark
or maybe twinkerbells would be more accurate
bob
THIS IS NOT HELPING THE NEGATIVE STEREOTYPES OF GAYS!!!!!!
Sean
Do most guys engage in this circuit party, cruising, sex-seeking lifestyle?
I feel so abnormal when I read Queerty lately…
Andrew
Actually it looks like a lot of fun to me. wish I was 15 years younger and I would besotted there!
Blibber
Pics are great, but the podcast was unendurable.
“Ewww…OLD PEOPLE! Poop joke. PEOPLE WERE HAVING SEX!!!”
(Mad, idiotic Tina giggling.)
“Condoms, porn stars, TOKEN BLACK GIRL!”
(More uncontrollable giggling.)
“Eww…more old people. EWW..old person talked to me. More poop jokes.”
(Uncontrollable giggling.)
Followed by two solid minutes of the narrator describing using the porta-potties interspersed with idiot giggling, which was when I turned it off.
Andrew Wells
Wow. That doesn’t look like a hot-bed of STD’s at all.
Tim
@bob: hey bob, what are you doing to help the stereotypes of gays? i’m so annoyed when people say that. It seems to be a party at a campground where guys are having fun outdoors. what? gays cant have their own woodstock? Is it so wrong for a bunch of city gays to enjoy the outdoors without some bitter queen talkin smack? I wish i went, i’m tired of the city.
Thomas
@mike: Did you see the actual photos of Pepper Mashay there? I was there, and she killed it!!! and yes, the producers messed up alot of stuff, but its their first year. I’ll def be there next year.
Handler
I was there actually.. Pepper was the SHIT! She killed that stage! Everyone had a great time…It was a great mix of people of all ages from all over the place! So much fun i CANT WAIT for Camp 2012! The producers with out of doubt were in over their heads…but all in all it was a first year and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves quite well.
Teddy J.
Look at my Mickey Mouse undies. Love it 😉
Nick
For someone who hates camping, I had an awesome weekend and certainly will be going next year. Ascension started in 2006 and was by no means the amazing party it is today. Give it time. I’m sure theyll get their sh*t together.
