Meet John Jeffrey “Janjep” Carlos.
The 41-year-old realtor from the Philippines was just crowned Mr. Gay World in Cape Town, South Africa over the weekend after competing against over 20 other guys from various countries.
Carlos is the second Filipino to take home the honor after John Raspado clinched the coveted title back in 2017.
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
Carlos, who hails from Cavite, bested 21 other candidates in the final round of the pageant in Cape Town, South Africa on May 4 (May 5 in Manila). He joins fellow Filipino John Fernandez Raspado took the crown in 2017.
Carlos succeeded Mr. Gay World 2018 Jordan Bruno, an Australian national, for the crown. Spain’s Francisco Alvarado was crowned 1st runner up, followed by Hungary’s Oliver Pusztan (2nd runner up), Thailand’s Cjayudhom Samibat (3rd runner up) and Belgium’s Nick Van Vooren (4th runner up).
Carlos says he hopes to use his platform to help fight depression in the LGBTQ community.
After winning the title, he shared a picture of the historic moment with his 330K+ followers on Instagram, along with the caption: “That moment when ur name was called as the winner and flashed ur flag on the big screen is something i feel very proud of.”

The guy he posed with in the one photo was more attractive to me than this guy. Yeah this guy takes care of his body, but he’s not good looking though. Doesn’t have a handsome face which trumps the body in the end.
Caramelo
Lol, of course you think the whiter looking guy is more attractive.
jsthib
the guy you are referring to was the host, not a competitor

batesmotel _ I agree with you. The winner doesn’t even have secondary male features like chest hair or a decent beard. He’s too androgynous for most men’s taste.

He is an attractive looking man. Very well defined face. They all appear to be handsome, but the man being discussed here stood out to me the most. He has a handsome face. FYI hairiness is not the only defining trait of male attractiveness. His features is considered beautiful/ handsome by a lot of gay men. Not all but a lot.

Bates, he’s a stunning example of best body, classical handsome chiseled face and character. Well spoken, and easy to see why Philippines has won the title 2 years in a row! Go Philippines! You are what? Choosing judging, racism, jealous another did not win? Of the five finalists he is #1. And the judges agreed. Take a pill, relax, go with the flow. Be happy for him. It’s the spiritual best choice and choose a sign of maturity to congratulate him for his great success, not whine. I forgive you.

The FaceTuning on some of those face and pec pics is really not good.

I also don’t think he is the best looking of the five finalists, and think some of my Filipino cycling buddies (unfortunately straight) are much sexier. But like any other “beauty contest”, it is also about presentation, articulation and community engagement.
Didn’t see the contest, but assuming he was the highest score in all aspects, not necessarily the prettiest.
PLAYS WELL WITH OTHERS
Jealousy rears it’s so very ugly faces….
dwes09
You think anyone who thought one of the other contestants better looking is necessarily “jealous” of something?
That seems very odd to me, please explain it.

Life goal….said no secure person ever.

You have no idea why he entered the competition (could easily have started on a dare), and certainly no idea how secure or insecure he might be in his life.
Judgement is so, so easy.
