PHOTOS: Sydney’s gay Mardi Gras was insane and these pictures prove it

Over 300,000 people turned out for the 40th Annual Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras, a dazzling weekend of parades, partying, and, oh yeah, a performance by Cher. The diva sang some of her biggest club hits, including “Strong Enough,” “All or Nothing,” “Believe,” and, of course, “Turn Back Time.”

Of course, no LGBTQ celebration would be complete without lots and lots (and lots) of photos of hunky shirtless men dressed in skimpy little costumes.

This past weekend I was honoured to have been a part of the Asian Marching Boys and Friends float at the 2018 Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras. My 7th year of participation in the parade. Aside from being a great time to dress up and dance, Mardi Gras is a perfect opportunity to honour and celebrate those who fight for equality. And for me personally to honour the individuals that have been a huge inspiration over the years. I have learned so much about courage, strength and determination from many of my friends in the gay community, including one of the most important lessons of all, to be yourself, no matter what people think! Thank you to all of the amazing souls involved, you do an amazing job, keep fighting and inspiring! ? —————————————————————————— #mardigras2018 #ambf #pride #courage #strength #equality #celebration #sydneymardigras #mardigras #community #inspiration #lgbti #sydney Thanks to @jakehadley0 for the photo.
