Rapper Boosie BadAzz (a.k.a. Lil Boosie, a.k.a. Boosie) is out of prison and finishing up work his seventh studio album. He’s also causing quite a stir on social media with a homophobic video that surfaced online earlier this week.
34-year-old Boosie was was sentenced to eight years in state prison after pleading guilty to the drug charges back in 2011. He was eventually released in 2014, but remains on parole until 2018.
Now, in a video that appeared a couple of days ago, the rapper recalls an incident that happened while he was at the Angola State Penitentiary in Louisiana when he walked in on two men having sex in the bathroom.

How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
In the video, Boosie says:
I remember I was in Angola I walked down on a n***a riding a n***a d*ck from the back. N***a riding that d**k. I said man I want to go home. I got to calling lawyers for all kinds of bonds. That s**t f**ked my head up. Another n***a riding a n***a d*ck man. Taking that b***h. I’m talking bout riding a n***a d**k. F***ing the s**t out that man in that b***h. I was like this ain’t no place for no human being. When I saw that s**t I was like these n****s sick man. You a nasty MF. Nasty a** n***a. The same n***a walking round that b***h talking like you a gangsta, you a punk.
The video has gone viral, receiving nearly 200,000 views, and sparking quite a bit of dialogue. Fans of the rapper are divided over whether or not the video is hilarious or homophobic. (For the record, it’s undeniably homophobic):
Boosie is a typical male homophobe: homophobic towards gay men but sees nothing wrong with two gay women.

Then there was this baffling tweet from “comedian” Jay Mohr in which he drops the N-word:

This isn’t the first time Boosie has come under fire for making homophobic remarks. In 2015, he caused a stir with a post on Instagram complaining about television having too much “gay sh*t.”
He reiterated that point during a radio interview last year, telling an interviewer, “You got cartoons that have gays. On Cartoons! These are kids. Let kids make their own decision if they wanna go that way!”
We think this guy sums the whole Boosie BadAzz situation up best:

Weird, indeed.

If you’re not going to address where this homophobia stems from, why even bother bringing this dude up? I am completely aware of the culture Boosie comes from, and it is unapologetically homophobic while also being weirdly homoerotic and all about machismo.
ChrisK
I’m not watching some hood thug speak in Ebonics. 10 seconds of Ni*ga this and Ni*ga and I’m out. Homophobia and Misogyny are usually what it’s about though. Great role models for kids.
Aromaeus
“hood thug speak in Ebonics” you didn’t even need to censor the n word in your comment we already know how you really feel.
ChrisK
Why don’t you go ahead and defend this trash then. Show me how racist I am and how I got it all wrong for calling him what he is.
ChrisK
Just so you know I’ve got similar names for gays in the hood as well. If shit for brains wants to be a walking stereotype and you want to follow him more power to you both.
CaliKyle
He shouldnt have made the video but he gets a pass on the spewing due to context and circumstances. Rape is a miserable fact of existence in prison. Even if the guy on guy encounter he walked in on was consensual or appeared that way to him it still served as a stark, terrifying reminder that he might soon be the one “riding that dick” – forcibly. In other words, his spasm of homophobia may have been brought about by fear of rape rather than hate. As I said, posting the video was wrong but it does seem motivated by something other than the desire to spread bigotry.
Juanjo
You occasionally make a valid point. Then other times you take that patent homophobia of a person and wander off is generalizations which are absurdly bigoted. Is there a strong current of homophobia in the Black community? Yes there is. Is there one in the Caucasian community? Yes there is. Comments about Ebonics and hood rats is just unnecessary drivel displaying your own bigotry. As for your comment about how you treat gay “hood rats” well what’s next? Going to tell us how some of your best friends are Black? Maybe a few more logical fallacies?
startenout
CaliKyle, you’re really desperate to try and defend it. Yeah, I’m sure his spewing of hatred was warranted from fear of rape since he’s been out of the prison for 3 years now. Hatred is hatred and this is an ignorant piece of trash. Can’t wait til he goes back to prison.
CaliKyle
Startenout, “..desperate to defend…?” No. I simply provided reasonable context and perspective instead of knee jerk outrage and insults. Try it sometime yourself.

I vaguely remember the name from around 2005 or so. Guess he’s been in prison this whole time. I’d imagine walking in on two guys going at it is rather traumatic for a straight guy. However, by the fairly detailed description, it seems like Mr. BadAzz certainly watched them for awhile. You would think said straight guy would immediately turn away, close his eyes, etc. He’s got a full play by play.
Kangol
He probably couldn’t take his eyes off of any of it. And I bet he recounts that hot man-on-man sex every chance he gets!
Kieran
A grown ass man going around with a name like “Lil Boosie” ? That sounds like a name you’d give to a prison bitch.
ChrisK
Just for a laugh here’s a sample of Lil Boosie. Sounds like he’s trying to copy Eminem except not nearly as clever.

This is such a common perspective that it’s hard to even care anymore. I will say this, if the majority of the male homosexuality you see and hear about involves rape, molestation, manipulation, exalting of masculine dominance and/or secrecy (and these things are pretty common for prison culture and to some extent extent hood culture. I know this first hand) it’s hard to develop a healthy opinion on it.
Doesn’t dismiss his ignorance and obsession with the topic.
RomanHans
I like how this guy is in Angola — a hard-time, maximum security prison — but evidently he’s cool until he sees two men having sex. Then all of a sudden he’s “LET ME OUT! This is INHUMAN!”
And his retelling is waaay too long. “Riding that d*ck. Riding it. Up and down, up and down. They switch positions and get going even faster! Still acting like they LIKE it! I could barely stand to watch them until they came.”
crowebobby
If he ever decides to stop rapping he can probably get a job as a concierge at one of the better hotels. If the personnel manager isn’t racist , that is.
Bob LaBlah
I doubt either Motel 6 or Motel 8 would be interested in hiring him.
IDoNotHaveToAgreeWithYou
A black person being a bigot isn’t news. It’s just a fact news outlets never report.
Juanjo
The fact you are a bigot is not news either. You have demonstrated that fact repeatedly.
Bob LaBlah
I bet he stood there and watched it to the climactic end. My question is this: if he were THAT offended then why didnt he run get a guard? If its a prison he shouldn’t have had to run very far to find one.
Terrycloth
He thinks he’s a star cuz he’s a rapper…they are a dime a dozen…plus it’s getting old and stale….I hope a few of his long time friends come out …maybe then he will change his tune..oh yeah he can’t sing. ..
Paco
His comments are inexcusable and definitely homophobic. The same tired belief that men who have sex with men are not real men. Whatever.
Kangol
Yes, but note how it left him shaken. Mr. 100% man was so fragile he had to get out of jail NOT because of the violence, isolation, etc., but because he couldn’t pull his delicate eyes off one man clearly and enjoyably f*cking another one. It UNMANNED him, Lil Boosie. He was projecting. Just reread his words. It’s quite clear.
NateOcean
He sounds like a snowflake or buttercup.
Kangol
Butterbutt or fluffernutter! LOL
captainburrito
It’s sad watching a grown man trying to express himself but lacking vocabularly of an educated young teen.
Orgoglio Masch
That’s r cist! j/k I was thinking the same, but I think these “Boosie” types give us honesty in its most raw form. They clearly lack the capability of knowing when they’re telling on themselves.
jasentylar
Was it rape or consensual sex? That’s the real question. I know how he described it, but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t rape.
dwes09
If he is an artist, he makes choices in his words (the medium of rap). He did not describe it as rape, did not refer to rape. The only thematic content was seeing what was clearly described as consensual sex, and his notion that real men are rightly disgusted by it.
There is enough subtle, artistic rap out there dealing with nuanced issues that we can draw the conclusion about his feelings, no need to add imagined ambiguity: there is no ambiguity there.
Doug
I wish he’d stayed in jail.
jhon_siders
Rap is total shit any how its not even music and they have a Grammy for the garbage !!All of them are nothing more than bunch of arm waving no talent foul mouthed losers And people pay to see this stuff a poor taste for shit people have now days I did not allow it on my place my kids buddy’s had to keep there pants pulled up too or they got a wedgie glad he did not get into the urban culture crap .
Jack Meoff
Couldn’t understand a word this guy said. What is that about?
ebd407
For those who fetishize black men for that “thug” or “hood” thing, Lil Woosie is a blue ribbon winner. How ignorant and primitive. .Sad to say, he is more the expected norm, not the exception. But I’ll keep using standard English and finish the ole PhD.
Knight
Wait, Queerty…why is this “homophobic”? If this were Dave Chappelle you’d say it was “controversial” or “thought-provoking”. I mean….he IS black, right? So, he CAN’T be “homophobic”! Check your PC handbook!
Idiots.
