He once said he didn’t understand the fight for marriage equality, but Canadian crooner Rufus Wainwright has certainly evolved: He and longtime boyfriend Jorn Weisbrodt are finally getting married.
According to Page Six, Wainwright, son of singer-songwriters Loudon Wainwright III and Kate McGarrigle, will wed the German theater producer at his home in Montauk this Thursday. The couple, who got engaged in 2010, are having a relatively simple affair but some well-known guests, including Carrie Fisher and Yoko Ono.
Following the nuptials, guests will head to a popular local restaurant, where they’ll be treated to a dinner of lobster rolls and Champagne. Then, the crowd will head to Montauk’s Shagwong Restaurant for a reception.
Together five years, Wainwright and Weisbrodt have been raising their daughter Viva, whose mother is Lorca Cohen, daughter of singer Leonard Cohen.
Talked about some great genes.

Congratulations to the happy couple!
It is nice to see somebody who used to be so unconcerned about a right, realize that things can change in life and they are important whether you are using them at the time or not.
Again, Congrats to them both!
