Is this the work of bored teens, dumb Satanists, or crazy fundamentalists? Someone has been spraying the numbers “666” on LGBT landmarks around Dallas. It’s not the first time LGBTs have borne the brunt of vandalism, but it is one of the oddest.
So far, there have been three targets: the Legacy of Love Monument, the Cathedral of Hope, and the office building where the owner of some gay nightclubs works. Weird, right?
Even weirder: if the vandals were trying to make a statement for Pride month, they got the date wrong. Dallas does Pride in September, just in time for back-to-school season.
Of course, there’s another possibility: some deranged queer with a victimhood complex, trying to get attention by making it look like the world is out to get us. Let’s hope it isn’t that, because life is hard enough without our own people making us look like lunatics.
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
Locals have very nicely scrubbed the paint from the landmarks, so hooray for them. Police are treating the incidents as hate crimes. Stay safe out there, Dallas queers!

Well, this is Texas, after all. No doubt a Rick Perry voter.

I’ve read enough Queerty to know that Satanists don’t vandalize monuments. They take pictures of their junk on them.

They should do more research because the real number is 616, not 666 and it’s a codename for emperor Nero.

A dead Texass is a good Texass! where are the Taliban, when I need them.

????? ???? ?????? ?? ??? ?????? ????? ?????? ???????

I would look for a disgruntled person who was thrown out or not allowed in those nightclubs

There are LGBT landmarks in Dallas??

Satanists are individualists, and wouldn’t do something requiring a group effort. Moreso, they don’t, ‘de facto’, dislike folks like us.

@Desert Boy: Satan wouldn’t want them! He’s a man of wealth and taste!

@i43neile: Tau Tau Tau in Hebrew actually, if I remember what I learned 30 years ago correctly. Symbolized by three downward slashes with the brush the way it was written then.
