You know, a dramatic reading of Cher‘s “Woman’s World” by the estimable Jackie Collins is really what this day was missing. Nay, what this thing we call life was missing. Collins manages to bring out the depth and pathos within the lyrical complexity of the song. Aren’t we all in the club dancing solo when it all comes down to it? Tell the truth, this is now a better world.

OH gawd, those lyrics just get worse and worse. Curious how/why it is that the way women preach about how empowered they are is by complaining and whining about how men have done them wrong. If they were so empowered, why did they allow themselves to be in the position of victim in the first place? Or maybe just by repeating It’s A Women’s World over and over and over that will somehow make it so.
If this was a women’s world, wouldn’t it be the men complaining about women doing them wrong?

Rather than this I’d love for her to read Bang Bang. I heard it once read as straight (ha!) poetry and I swore everyone in the room cried.
