Amy’s Brit Moment

Yes, this Amy Winehouse performance tops Britney Spears’s disaster. Don’t do heroin.

Oh, shut the fuck up. To declare that this performance “tops Britney Spears’s disaster” is absolutely absurd. Is it Amy in top form? Obviously not. But aside from the sporadically hoarse vocals and the extra-frizzy beehive, it’s pretty much par for the course. She always looks uncomfortable, she never makes eye contact, her phrasing tends to slur. She still makes it through two full numbers back-to-back. Stop being bitchy just to be bitchy.

This is not worse than Britney’s performance. I don’t think Amy has ever ever enjoyed singing live. But she never lip syncs. And she seemed more with it than Britney did.

Both looked like disasters –

Neither one looked remotely sober. Amy “sings” live, (point), but Britney was able to walk on her own (point). It’s a pretty close call to me.

ditto..all of amy’s performances i have seen (not in person) have been sub par, she slurs and is not on point…this one was no different. there is a clip of her doing some live songs for a radio show that she did really well for but otherwise, performing live is not her strong point(which sucks for her audience!)

saw her in philly at the electric factory awhile back. i think (secretly) we were all hoping she’d get drunk and fall off the stage, but she nailed every song (despite someone appearing every few minutes with a cup of who knows what). for that night, at least, she put on a terrific performance. her vocals amazing.

Anyway, at least Amy has talent. I still like her, no matter the drugs.

Nah, Britney was bad. Amy’s just being Amy. At least she wasn’t nodding off. And her vocals weren’t that bad… I mean, it’s telling, I am not a fan, but doesn’t she always kinda sound just like that?
