And Why Is Anti-Gay Aussie Lawmaker Rev. Fred Nile’s Computer Looking At Porn?
Let’s all give New South Wales lawmaker Rev. Fred Nile, a Christian Democrat who hates the homos, a round of applause for handing the press this excuse for why his government-issued computer made some 200,000 requests to porn sites: he was doing “research.” On the pro-gay pro-prositution Australian Sex Party. Or somebody else was using his computer! This is the same guy whose anti-gay crusading began in the 80s, says crap like this, and just this week saw him claiming at a rally on Tuesday women are aborting their children rather than letting gay couples adopt and raise them.

Oh we have plenty of nutjobs in Australialand… They’re just a little less crazy-evil, and little more crazy-stupid. Instead of getting angry, you just point and laugh (although there are exceptions).
I will tell you this much though, Aussies do not give a shit about our politicians surfing porn, visiting strippers, etc. If anything, it would make him more popular. If you wanna see true bat-shit-crazy in Australia, just look our our sports players.

Well, to be fair, 200,000 times is a lot.
He is old and could not have possibly “looked” at ALL of them.

He is obviously obsessed nearly to the point of insanity. The porn is his food, his drug, his last remaining connection to a distorted reality. We should just feel sorry for the old guy and let him finish out his life. There is no changing him at this point.

When you load this QUEERTY page, you actually make over 100 requests to the server (mostly for various images). 200,000 requests to porn sites could really mean under 2000 visits to porn sites, with most of the requests being for images (you get one image per request), assuming the porn sites are at least as image-laden as QUEERTY.
Keep in mind too that a newspaper is most likely to count HTTP requests for images needed to display a page – the larger number is more likely to get readers’ attention.
