Anderson Cooper Expends Precious Journalism Resources on Chimp Hunt

Breaking news from The Coop: Michael Jackson’s BFF Bubbles has been tracked down in Florida! From yesterday’s AC360 we learn the now-26-year-old chimp is as close to Anderson Cooper’s heart as Jacko himself once was.

its good to know bubbles is alive and well. i had heard he became a bodyworks exhibit, and there were rumours that mj had signed away his body to be used in the same way. yuck!

but its sad that mj never visited bubbles. i doubt he would physically recognize his old owner though, after all that facial reconstruction.

OMFG! I didn’t know Chimps grew that HUGE!

It’s sad that Michael never visited poor bubbles, I would at least hope he might have donated money to sanctuaries for animals like Bubbles.

I’m glad the chimp didn’t rip anyone face off and has ended up in a decent place. They should never be pets or used as trained performers. Successful performance training invariably involves abuse. By the time they grow out of babyhood by about 7 or 8 years old they are way too strong and aggressive to be around people. They live as long a people do and a lot of people owned chimps spend lives after babyhood in wretched conditions.

I wanted to write a cynical comment about the uselessness of the American media, but MONKEYS ARE AWESOME!

I had forgotten about Bubbles. I am glad Anderson found him and let us know that he is in good hands. I’m really grateful Anderson took the time and resources to inform us about Bubbles.

Hey, leave my future husband alone. I’m talking about Anderson, not Bubbles.

Jackson’s animals were miserable and mean. Alexander Theroux got a chance to tour Neverland and visit MJ’s private zoo.

He was warned about getting too close to almost every animal there. They’d grab him if he got near the bars. Says something about the way they were being treated.

Bubbles is much better off in Florida. Plenty of other retirees for company.
